Annoyance filled Elain's chest. She didn't say another word and turned away. She marched toward the bridge.
At that moment, she didn't care if she offended Rafelius and he ended up breaking his word. All she wanted was to get away from him. His watchful eyes were too much for her to bear, his words too aggravating. His entire presence made her restless.
"Don't you want to know who the man your cousin is secretly seeing is?"
She was halfway across the bridge when she stopped. She turned around and found Rafelius leaning against the pavilion's pillar, looking at her.
The wind blew toward her, making her half-braided hair dance along with it. Rafelius's intense stare made her shiver.
