No. Rafelius had sounded so sure, so certain that what he sought was in Blythmor's possession.

He had his own way of knowing… or so he claimed.

When she asked Rory what else the stories said about the amulet, her cousin told her it possessed no grand magic. It could only shine brightly in the darkness, with a light that rivaled a hundred candles, one that no power could extinguish. 

It was said to be proof of the old king's endless devotion to his lover, a love that could never be snuffed out.

That was very different from what Rafelius had told her about the relic he sought.

Elain spent the next few hours thinking about it all. With the level of confidence Rafelius had shown, she found it hard to believe he could be wrong. But was Scyanthe's Amulet truly one of the relics in the King's trove?

There was only one way to find out.
