Devara looked across the valley once more before turning toward the forest spirit.
His expression had become calmer, and the seriousness in his eyes was now mixed with determination.
"I understand why you did what you did," he said.
"And I will not ask you to abandon the tigers you protected. But I promise you, I will find a way to restore the balance of this forest without allowing the hunters to slaughter them again."
The forest spirit studied him quietly.
"You truly intend to do that?"
"I do."
Devara then glanced toward the sleeping tigers scattered throughout the valley.
"But until I find that solution, they cannot remain here forever. They need to return to the forest."
The spirit's eyes widened.
"Release them?"
Devara nodded.
