Faelyn pushed open the curtain and looked down.
Little Kito was still there, ears flat against his head, looking absolutely miserable.
"I... I'm so sorry," he said in the smallest, saddest voice she'd ever heard. "I caused all this trouble. I know I promised not to tell anyone and then I went and told everyone and now you have to make a feast and invite the Panthers snfff—"
His voice cracked slightly.
"I'll accept any punishment. I know I broke my promise. I just... I was so happy and excited and I wanted to brag about being honored by your diviness and wisdom on the new method called cooking meat and I didn't think and snfff—"
He looked like he was about to cry.
Faelyn's heart melted.
'Awww! No no no. He's too cute. I can't be mad at him. Look at those ears. Look at that tiny face. He's genuinely distraught—'

'He's a child and he's sad!'
She knelt down to Kito's level and gently patted his head.
The cub froze, eyes going wide.
