Chapter 23 - Chapter 24: The Saitama Training Manual!

A car arrived shortly after, with the staff offering profuse apologies. The group piled in, and Lin Feng drove straight to the city hospital.

Half an hour later, after a thorough examination, the doctor found no signs of poisoning or toxins. Betty and Jessica finally breathed a sigh of relief. Gwen, her mind at ease, gave her friends a playful smile. "See? I told you I was fine!"

"Yeah, yeah," Betty and Jessica muttered, not bothering to argue.

Natasha checked in as well. "Gwen, after an accident like that, do you girls want to head back to the expo?"

The three girls exchanged looks and shook their heads. "No thanks, Miss Natasha," Betty said with a hopeful glint in her eyes. "We've seen enough. Can we have the rest of the day off?"

"Of course," Natasha replied with a charming smile. "But this is our little secret. Don't let it slip, or the school might dock my pay!"

"Hahaha!" The girls erupted into cheers.

Lin Feng's lips curled into a faint smile. They soon left the hospital, and Natasha headed back to the expo to finish her duties. Betty immediately suggested a shopping trip to Times Square, and Lin Feng naturally became the designated "pack mule."

He couldn't quite decide if being the heavy lifter for three beautiful women was a form of torture or a supreme luxury.

As evening fell, Lin Feng and Jessica said their goodbyes to Gwen and Betty. The two of them strolled through the streets under the golden glow of twilight. They had spent the afternoon shopping, caught a movie, and shared a nice dinner. Betty and Gwen were clearly trying their best to help Jessica move past her trauma, and Jessica felt a swell of gratitude in her heart.

"Thank you, Lin. For everything," Jessica whispered, looking at the city lights.

"Don't mention it," Lin Feng chuckled.

He wasn't doing this just for her, of course—he was also doing it for those sweet system rewards. He hadn't even had a chance to properly inspect them yet. The Horse Talisman was already in his possession, and the Danger Sense had perfectly integrated with his reflexes.

Now, only that final, mysterious reward remained. He was dying of curiosity about the "Saitama-style Special Training Guidance Manual," even if the name made him want to facepalm. After all, Saitama was the "One Punch Man," the strongest being on the planet. If this was truly the secret to his strength...

Wait, Lin Feng thought. Saitama is strong, but he's also bald. I'll pass on the chrome-dome look.

As they neared Jessica's home, Lin Feng's expression suddenly shifted. He felt a prickle at the back of his neck—a cold sense of being watched. The Danger Sense was proving its worth already.

"What is it, Lin?" Jessica asked, noticing his hesitation.

"Oh, nothing," Lin Feng shook his head, leading her inside.

But internally, he issued a cold command: Shadow Corps, find the rat hiding in the dark. I want to see who's looking for trouble.

Lin Feng knew his appearance at Stark Industries had likely drawn attention, and Natasha's "home visit" was proof of that. However, his Shadow Ninjas had confirmed that Natasha's interest seemed personal rather than professional. So, he was curious who this new stalker was. Was it one of Director Fury's agents?

Regardless of who it was, Lin Feng had no intention of living under surveillance. He wouldn't mind giving them a warning they wouldn't forget.

Buzz...

The Shadow Corps silently fanned out, melding into every dark corner. Everywhere the shadows touched served as Lin Feng's eyes. While Jessica went to freshen up, Lin Feng sat on the sofa and synced his consciousness with a Shadow Ninja.

The stalker was found almost instantly.

"Wait... this guy isn't from S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Lin Feng watched through the ninja's eyes, surprised by the figure he saw.

The man was lurking in a dark alley, his gaze fixed feverishly on Jessica's window. His appearance was bizarre: he wore a sharp black suit, but his skin and hair had a distinct purple hue. He was clearly no ordinary human.

Lin Feng recognized him immediately: Killgrave, the Purple Man.

Originally a spy named Zebediah Killgrave, he had been doused in an experimental nerve gas during a mission. The accident had mutated his body, giving him the ability to release and control pheromones that acted as a powerful nerve agent. Once someone inhaled or absorbed these pheromones through their skin, they fell under his absolute control, becoming mindless puppets.

In the original timeline, Jessica Jones had been ensnared by him and subjected to horrific torment—an experience that had left her shattered and suicidal.

"The Purple Man? Heh, talk about a coincidence," Lin Feng murmured, withdrawing his consciousness. He didn't strike immediately.

Identifying the Purple Man was enough.

To Lin Feng, a bottom-tier mutate like Killgrave wasn't worth making a scene over yet. It wouldn't be too late to step in once the man actually tried to make a move on Jessica.
