Under Luther's descriptive style, full of 'journalistic charisma,' 'Captain Creuset' undoubtedly became the most important central figure.
Luther had deliberately explained it this way for two main reasons.
One was to, through layered implications, create the impression that Creuset was acting arbitrarily on his own authority, suggesting the possibility that this was not an order from ZAFT, let alone the collective will of Plant. Of course, for this to have a real effect, someone on the Plant or ZAFT side would have to cooperate in severing ties with him.
The other was to cast even more suspicion on Creuset, whose slate was already far from clean, and place him under the spotlight.
The combination of these two factors not only made it more difficult for Plant or ZAFT to shield Creuset but also extended a stepping stone—or an olive branch—for them to 'disassociate from Creuset and establish contact with Celestial Being.'
As for the Archangel being implicated, besides the fact that they themselves were indeed not 'clean,' it was also a way to create a pretext for Celestial Being's subsequent military intervention.
After all, even if Celestial Being made its grand debut on the stage of the Cosmic Era through the live broadcast of the 'Heliopolis Collapse' incident, it would naturally follow up by revealing its own ideology.
But as Lacus, in her 'demon queen' phase from the original timeline, famously said:
"Having only ideals, or having only power, is not enough."
After the Luther Fleet officially became a player in the chaos of the Cosmic Era as 'Celestial Being,' it had to fully demonstrate its own strength to gain a voice commensurate with its power and ideals.
And the 'unsinkable ship' Archangel, which scurried all over the place in the original timeline, was clearly a very useful tool.
Although, with the gradual changes in the timeline, it was uncertain to what extent it could be 'used,' it could at least be used to make a show of force against the Artemis Fortress, following Luther's solo fight against the four young pilots.
To achieve these overt and covert objectives, just like when arguing that 'Orb, the Earth Alliance, and Plant are all culprits,' sufficient evidence was indispensable, in addition to Luther's words.
Fortunately, thanks to Luther's prior instructions and the efforts of the entire Gwamel crew—especially Monica, a former Captain of the Principality of Zeon's Sovereign's Office Special Service, who personally led the team—'Celestial Being' managed to copy and filter Heliopolis's surveillance records and other data in time.
This allowed them to display scene after scene of the battle, in which both sides showed no regard for the civilians or the safety of Heliopolis, to a global audience in rough chronological order, coordinated with Luther's words and commentary during the public, all-channel address.
The first half of the presentation naturally showed the part where the Creuset Team infiltrated Heliopolis to seize the Gundam series.
First was the recording of the Heliopolis port authority hailing the Creuset Team, and the Creuset Team completely ignoring the warning and brazenly dispatching mobile suits to attack.
Then came the Earth Alliance warships docked in the 'neutral nation of Orb,' and the launched Moebius and Moebius Zero units.
Finally, there were clips of the three-way firefight outside the colony satellite, which included the Heliopolis defense forces.
"Some might think that the above is still acceptable. Well then, let's take a look together at how Heliopolis, with its large civilian population, was dismantled step by step."
With Luther's introduction and the accompanying subtitles, the presentation of evidence for the 'Heliopolis Collapse' entered its second half. After the initial, relatively restrained combat between the two—or rather, three—sides, the fighting became less and less restrained, or to put it charitably, difficult to restrain, as it continued.
First were the Moebius Zero and the CGUE breaking out through the main shaft.
Next was the Archangel, unscrupulously firing missiles inside the colony satellite, which ultimately struck the main shaft.
Then came the Strike Gundam, which damaged the CGUE with its Launcher Striker Pack while simultaneously blowing a large hole in Heliopolis.
After that was the GINN, equipped with D Equipment, which broke through a wall without any hesitation.
Finally, both sides engaged in a reckless, fierce battle inside the colony satellite, ultimately leading to the disintegration of Heliopolis.
"As you have all seen, Heliopolis, which could once be called the last peaceful, pure land in this world untouched by war, has ultimately been reduced to floating rubble in space due to the war between Plant and the Earth Alliance, under circumstances where its owner also bears an undeniable responsibility.
"Before today, many people might have been able to deceive themselves with Heliopolis or the neutral nation of Orb.
"But after today, everyone must face a cruel reality: 'The Earth is vast, yet there is no longer a single peaceful place to live!'"
After revealing that in the 'Heliopolis Collapse' incident, the Orb government as its owner, as well as the warring ZAFT and Earth Alliance forces, all bore undeniable responsibility through ample and detailed evidence, Luther's next step was to elevate the theme.
"Let us review the war over the past year!
"First, there was the 'Bloody Valentine' and the 'April Fools' Crisis,' then the flames of war gradually spread across the globe, and now even Heliopolis, the only place that was relatively untouched by the war, has met such a fate.
"If the war continues like this, it might very well trigger a crisis that leads to human extinction. Is this truly what we, as humanity, desire?!
"And looking back at the cause of the war, it seems so ridiculous now.
"Those in power engaged in extreme brinkmanship for their own selfish interests, and when negotiations finally broke down, the consequences had to be borne by every single one of us. Yet they remain in their high positions, living in luxury, using the wealth and power in their hands to drive others, including women and young boys, onto the battlefield. Is this acceptable?!"
Although Luther really wanted to point out the 'war criminals' in one go, and while 'Celestial Being' had established some initial credibility and provoked people's thoughts, the conflict between 'Naturals' and 'Coordinators' was, after all, 'deeply rooted.'
Therefore, before that, he needed to 'defend' both sides, and in doing so, lay the groundwork for exposing the 'masterminds behind the scenes.'
"Those of you on Earth might be thinking, 'It's all the Coordinators' fault,' or 'For a blue and natural universe.'
"But in the final analysis, the emergence of Coordinators was based on our very own wish for our descendants to be more outstanding.
"Before Coordinator technology appeared, we also enhanced our offspring through means like nutrition and education. Coordinator technology is merely a new method.
"Not to mention that Coordinators themselves did not wish to become Coordinators; they were born under the earnest hopes of their parents.
"Furthermore, the current Coordinator technology actually has many problems. There are extreme fertility difficulties among second-generation Coordinators; it is by no means a perfect existence.
"Isn't the most fundamental problem that those with wealth tried to use Coordinator technology to solidify their class status, and when they found the technology was not as good as expected, they would rather use Coordinators as disposable pawns to divert contradictions than share and further improve this technology with the public?!"
