Hallie's pov:
I didnt mean to wake him up but someone just pushed me by the way aren't we going to school...!? "RAYNN!" WAKE UP!!
We both pushed open the huge school gates together.
The familiar creak of the iron doors echoed as students flooded inside. New session, same place , but everything still felt slightly different, like the school was pretending to be new while still carrying all its old memories.
Rayn looked around. "SAME BUILDING, SAME NOISE, .... SAME CHAOS"
Hallie adjusted her bag strap. "AND YOU SAME COMPLAINING WITHIN FIVE SECONDS"
Rayn glanced at her. "ITS CALLED OBSERVATION"
"ITS CALLED DRAMA" she replied instantly.They started walking side by side through the main corridor.That's when they heard it.A group of juniors standing near the notice board were whispering loudly, loud enough that it wasn't really a whisper.
"BRO THEY ARE TOGETHER AGAIN" one of them said.
Another leaned in. "OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE GARDE 1ST"
" I SWEAR THEY ARE DATING " a girl added excitedly. " LOOK AT THEM WALKING TOGETHER LIKE THAT"
Hallie immediately stopped walking.Rayn stopped too.There was a one-second silence.
Then Hallie slowly turned her head slightly toward Rayn. "DID THEY JUST SAID..."
"WE ARE DATING" Rayn finished.
A junior quickly noticed they were heard and froze. "UH.."
Another one whispered, "OH NOOOO!"
Rayn blinked once. Then twice.
Then he casually turned toward them. "YOU GUYS DO YOU KNOW THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RELASHIONSHIP AND FRIENDSHIP, RIGHT" The juniors went silent.
Hallie added calmly, "ALSO I HAVE A BETTER TASTE"
Rayn gasped. "EXCUSE YOU?"
She shrugged. "JUST SAYING"
One of the juniors looked like they wanted to disappear into the floor.
Rayn sighed. " WE HAVE MEEN FRIENDS SINCE GRADE 1 EVEN IF WE WERE DATING DO YOU THINK WE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED EACHOTHER" .
Hallie nodded. "IMPOSSIBLE"
Rayn added, " SHE STEALS MY FOOD ".
"AND HE TALKS TOO MUCH" Hallie said.
Rayn pointed at her. "CASE IN POINT".
The juniors slowly started backing away like they had witnessed a crime scene.
"BRO I THINK WE SHOULD GO" one whispered.
"YEAH, BEFORE WE GET ROSTED TOO"
As they walked away quickly, Hallie turned back to Rayn.
"THIS SCHOOL NEVER CHANGES" she said.
Rayn nodded. "BUT THE RUMOURS GET WORSE EVERY YEAR"
Hallie smirked. "NEXT YEAR THEY'LL PROBABLY SAY WE HAVE KIDS"
Rayn almost choked. "DONT GIVE THEM IDEAS" . They walked further inside, where the noise got louder. Students were hugging, shouting, and comparing timetables.
Suddenly—
"HALLIEEEEEE"
A loud voice echoed through the corridor.
Before she could react, Eva crashed into her like a human missile.
"I MISSED YOU SOO MUCHHH" Eva shouted, hugging her tightly.
Hallie almost dropped her bag.
Sam came running behind her. "SHE ATTACKED YOU AGAIN...DIDNT SHE?"
Rayn nodded. "AS EXPECTED"
Eva finally let go. "OKAY.. BUT THIS YEAR WE ARE GOING TO BE ICONIC"
Sam sighed. "LAST YEAR YOU SAID THAT AND WE ALMOST GOT BANNED FROM THE LIBRARAY"
"THAT WAS STRATEGY" Eva defended.
Rayn crossed his arms. "THAT WAS STUPIDITY"
Eva pointed at him. " AND YOU WERE PART OF IT"
Rayn shrugged. "REGRETFULLY"
They all laughed.
Just then, the announcement speaker crackled loudly.
"ALL THE STUDENTS ARE REQUESTED TO ASSEMBLE IN THE AUDITORIUM FOR WELCOME PARTY OF NEW SESSION"
Sam groaned. "FIRST DAY AND THEY ALREADY WANT SPEECHES"
Eva smiled. "I LIKE SPEECGES"
"YOU LIKE EVERYTHING LOUD AND DRAMATIC" Hallie said.
"EXACTLY" Eva replied
They continued walking, still laughing slightly about it.
