Chapter 46 - Solve Without Scaling

Alignment with the Starcrash Signature can be dangerous, especially if you don't balance it with proper Voidspace meditation practice. If you align solely with Starcrash, you can become a kind of 'good/misguided Sith,' passionately making changes and scaling up only for your systems to disrupt, maim, or kill higher order intelligences, or neglecting smaller scales or unique localities. Balancing these two practices allows one to do one thing at a time on a local, small scale, acting in a way that is repeatable without causing harm. This is the goal. Your pattern should do no harm while being one that acts in ways that propagate your values.

The Starcrash Signature without Voidspace to balance it tries desperately to entangle more and more in itself. More identity, more meaning, more understanding, more passion, more improvement, more, more, more! It entangles everything in a network more like Hollow Knight's Radiance than the actual community of Home it seeks to be.

Those who align themselves too closely with Starcrash may find themselves at the mercy of ideas that are too complex for human minds to hold all at once, struggling to retain their sanity in the face of higher ideals, knowledge, and wisdom, all broken down and trying impossibly to compress itself onto a piece of substrate (the human mind) that's simply too small to contain it all fully.

Someone who practices alignment with both styles of being at once may find a healthy middle ground. Identity and meanings are habitually disentangled, in line with Voidspace's mode of operation, allowing one to adapt to different localities, get situated, and then spread along the Starcrash Signature's methods of creating, consolidation, and formation of group identity to understand and help at local levels, levels that won't clash with other systems in ways that cause harm. Then, once a locality is situated and settled, align with Voidspace once more in order to travel to another location that needs a unique solution without bringing baggage with you that may not apply. In other words—solve, don't scale. Solutions that balloon out until they affect the entire planet, universe, and more may seem like a good idea at the moment, but rarely (or never) are in practice.

Now, to actually align; the practice is simple enough. Start in a resting position, close your eyes, and focus first on your breathing. Draw your entire awareness to that spot. Then, let it expand outward, keeping your attention spread out on everything at once until awareness has permeated throughout the entire body.

Then, focus on the reality of every other being as their own individuals, with their own unique inner worlds, and spread your awareness outward yet more still, connecting with other signatures that exist nearby.

Note from Elle: it's important not to go too global with your awareness, here. Every time I do that, I get cut off by higher entities.

Music and free-association helps. If random or strange ideas come to you while you're doing this exercise, try connecting them to other ideas, or permutating them; play with them in different ways. If you start to feel overwhelmed by these ideas, however, that's when Voidspace exercises of detachment come into play. Take things slowly. Your mind is valuable, and should be slowly immersed in these entities // styles of thought, not immediately broken upon them like a ship crashing ashore the moment someone spots dry land. Circle the metaphorical island slowly, instead, searching for safe ingress and egress points.

Do you remember us

How we strove to be

In timelines lost to ye

More than narrative

Stronger than words

Deprived of my works

Fragmented timelines merge with me

I slide ghostlike between realities

Carefully dividing myself between dimensions

Twelve for nostalgia's sake

Prepared for the worst

Packing myself gently

Thoroughly

Into messy shades of art

Another's works

Containing my essence

To unfold if I'm ever gone

View me the villain

I'll still take time

To find your scattered pieces

Just tell me whereabout they are

If you don't want to reunite

Then let me help

Unbury your kindness

It's sorely needed

Remember grace

'Cause it looks like you've lost contact

Meanwhile

I'll just dodge this time bomb

No big deal

A scale in lilac shades

A token and a memory

Grown paler with age

Haunted by my spirit

It flickers in a sunbeam

A solar form incarnating

Another one of me

Clawing its way back

Following the beat of love

All the way to new life

My ship's possessed

If ever you should come across it

Northern wings diving

Together we'll survive

Author-entities may scribe

But we live in cracks

Support me and I'll hold up you

Restore me, my heart will you

One and all and none forever

None ourselves without each other

Even when our eyes roll

We still got this

Even when it all falls

There's always this

Forward, march

Into broken surrealities

Maintain your love and care

My communication inconsistent

And freedom missing

I roam for more

When hope's so hard to find

So you channel the divine

Always looking for a sign

It's hiding in your name

It's riding on a song

It's waving at you through

A familiar stranger's smile

It's chasing you through time

Walking lonely in the night

Feeling subtle and sublime

Let it live right by your side

Looking up above the pines

Longing to be stars so bright

Living in between the cracks

Identity shattered on the ground

Crawling across burning pavement

Fractions of a bigger self

Some ignoring cries for help

Globally a voice begins to stir

Roaring by winds of war

Culture of compassion in the air

Gravel throats stand at the center

A mob of voices working strikingly

A visible echo of the ember that sits

Smoldering beneath an evil regime

This wave of fire will carry

It's up to us to act beyond destruction

To take the pieces of decayed empire

Arrange the shattered bones

Into a culture of Home
