Francesca finally turned toward Penelope once more. "He was telling us about a stag he tracked with his brother."
Her sister's animated expression stunned her for a moment. "A stag?" Penelope repeated.
Anthony nodded. "It was a rather impressive animal."
"How impressive?" One of the ladies asked the question before Penelope could.
One could see the deep admiration plastered across her face for the man before her.
Anthony looked toward her. "Large enough that I spent the better part of an entire afternoon following its trail."
"One afternoon?" Lady Bridget interrupted. She, as well, wasn't excluded. There was some sort of obvious fondness in those eyes. "I thought you said it was nearly two days."
Anthony glanced at her. He didn't seem to mind the reaction he was receiving.
Instead, he seemed to be enjoying it, although under a charming formality that couldn't be questioned. "Two days would be a considerable exaggeration, Lady Bridget."
"You said it yourself."
