She had expected him to show at least a little interest, perhaps to ask when the expedition would take place.
Instead, he appeared content to offer Francesca a polite encouragement and leave the matter there.
That wasn't how she expected things to go.
Anthony's expression had become suspiciously satisfied. Penelope could almost see him congratulating himself.
She would not have it.
"How fortunate then that Francesca will as well have a great number of company," She said smoothly, earning his attention, including Francesca's who seemed to be doing a great deal to hide her disappointment.
