The house held its breath, the silence thick with the absence of Sunshine. Lucas, returning from his errand, felt a jolt of unease. Her absence was a void in the familiar landscape of their home. Panic surged, a cold wave washing over him as he began his search. Each room was a potential hiding place, each shadow a deceptive illusion.
The simple act of seeking solace in a snack was interrupted by a sound. It was laughter, echoing from the usually quiet library. But mixed with the laughter was a cry for help. A desperate plea cutting through the air, drawing Lucas towards the unknown.
Lucas, abandoning his snack, sprinted towards the library, the urgency in Sunshine's cry echoing in his ears. He burst through the door to find her clinging precariously to the window, a book tumbling to the floor below. Her grip was failing, her hands slick with an unseen substance.
"Save me, Lucas!" she cried, her voice laced with fear. He lunged, grasping her hand, his own grip tenuous. "Brace yourself, Sunshine!" he urged, his voice strained with effort. "I won't let you fall." He held on to her, his knuckles white.
"Please, Lucas, don't let me go," she pleaded, her eyes wide with terror. He knew he had to act fast, but a solution was needed. "I need to get some ropes, I'll be right back!" he said. The clock was ticking.
The library door slammed shut behind Lucas, the sound echoing in the sudden quiet. Sunshine, suspended between safety and the unknown, was trembling, her entire body a testament to her fear. She managed a shaky nod, her eyes fixed on the spot where Lucas had disappeared.
"Hold on, Sunshine... hold on," Lucas's voice, now distant, was a fragile lifeline. The seconds stretched into an eternity as she clung to the window, the unseen threat of the fall looming. Each tick of the clock was a hammer blow, each moment a test of her dwindling strength.
The kitchen was his goal, the rope was a necessity. It was a race against time, a desperate attempt to save her else he would be crucified by Hansen.
As Sunshine hung there, her eyes shut tight, the scene shifted in her mind. She found herself aboard a massive cargo ship, surrounded by girls her age, all bound together with ropes, a strange sense of camaraderie mixed with fear.
Suddenly, a stout man approached, his face oddly shaped with a long chin, a prominent nose, and soft watery lips. He squatted in front of Sunshine and her partner, his presence looming like a shadow over them.
The tension was palpable as he surveyed the girls, his intentions unclear, leaving Sunshine's heart racing as she wondered what would happen next.
A plume of smoke, thick with the scent of cigarettes, enveloped them. "You girls are quite the sight, especially you," he rasped, his gaze settling on Sunshine. He reached out, his hand landing on her chin, a gesture that sent a shiver down her spine.
Then, his hand moved, his touch becoming invasive, a violation of her space. Sunshine reacted instantly, spitting on his face in defiance.
The response was swift and brutal. A sharp slap echoed in the confined space, the sting of his palm erupting on her cheek, leaving it burning with pain and humiliation. The world tilted, the ship's rocking motion intensifying the disorientation.
"You're an animal...you hideous bitch. "Tears dropped from her eyes as she cursed him.
"Don't worry, this ugly bitch will enter you tonight.. I'll make sure I dig in you till you plead me to stop. I can see you're very tough...Hahahaha"
He laughed mischievously and walked away.
"Are you alright?" the other lady asked, her voice laced with concern. She was bound, just like Sunshine.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Sunshine replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil within. "At least he was careless enough to leave us a way out."
With a swift movement, Sunshine reached for the lighter the man had dropped, a small spark of hope igniting in the darkness. He had been so focused on his cruel words, unaware of the potential weapon now clutched in her hand.
Sunshine, with newfound determination, maneuvered the lighter towards the other lady. "Here, help me with this," she urged.
A shared chuckle of triumph escaped them as the lady took the lighter. "Haha, we did it!" Sunshine exclaimed, a surge of relief washing over her.
As the sun began its descent, casting long shadows across the scene, the men gathered for drinks, their laughter echoing in the evening chill.
Seizing the moment, Sunshine focused, carefully burning through the thick rope, inch by inch, with the small flame. It was a slow process, but with each passing moment, their freedom drew closer.
With their bonds severed, they immediately turned their attention to the others, desperate to free them as well. But just as they began to work, the ugly man, flanked by two others, materialized from the shadows.
"What do you think you're doing?" The man bellowed, his voice a guttural growl that sent shivers down their spines.
The freed captives didn't hesitate. Seizing the opportunity, they scattered, making a break for it. The commotion alerted the other men, who rushed to join the fray.
Just as Sunshine made her escape, she was intercepted by the ugly man. Before she could react, he grabbed her, his eyes filled with a predatory gleam. He ripped her dress apart.
He pressed his lips against her neck, then moved lower, his actions becoming increasingly violent.
Her screams pierced the air, reaching her companion who was desperately fleeing for safety.
Following the sound, she witnessed the man on top of Sunshine, the scene a brutal display of power. Sunshine, weakened and vulnerable, fought back by biting the man's lip as he attempted to kiss her.
"Get your filthy face out of my way," she spat, her voice laced with defiance and anger.
The man's response was immediate and brutal. He slapped her, then gripped her neck tightly.
"I warned you, beautiful... you'll take my prick right away," he sneered, forcing her cheeks open.
Just as the man moved to force himself on her, a sharp pain erupted in his hand.
"Ouch..." he groaned, rolling over in agony. The other lady rushed to Sunshine's aid, helping her up, and together they fled towards the edge of the old sailing ship. There, the lady found a square piece of wood, which she tossed into the sea.
With a shared look of determination, they both plunged into the water, followed by the sound of a gunshot. They sought refuge under the floating wood, using it as cover.
The men ceased firing when they saw the water turn red with blood.
"Let's go, they're dead," one of the men declared.
Sunshine managed to climb back onto the wood, only to realize her friend was sinking. Without hesitation, she dove back in, pulling her up. It was then she saw the wound, the evidence of a gunshot. Her friend began to cough up blood.
"Don't die on me, friend, we have to go through this together... don't die," she wailed, her voice thick with desperation.
Tearing a piece of her dress, she attempted to staunch the bleeding around her friend's stomach, but it was clear it wasn't enough.
"Stay put, dear... I- I know I can't make it. Stay alive," she cried, her voice breaking as she held Sunshine's face.
While Sunshine desperately searched for a solution, her friend rolled onto the wooden plank and slipped into the sea, her final breath escaping her lips.
"Noooooooo!"
Sunshine snapped out of her daze and realized she was falling. With the aid of a rope he had tied against the wall, Lucas grabbed her hands and pulled her over.
They all landed on the floor, with Sunshine on top of him.
Hansen, who had returned, came upon them, finding them in that exact position.
