My father froze on the sidewalk and let his winning racing tickets fall onto the dirty concrete. He stared at me in absolute shock for several long seconds, unable to process my presence in his new city.

"You owe me four years of my life, and you are going to get in that dark car right now before I call the men you owe money to," I replied while I crossed my arms over my chest.
He looked past my shoulder and noticed the large luxury vehicle parked across the narrow street. He saw Leon sitting in the driver's seat, and he saw Mason standing a few feet behind me. Mason wore a sharp tailored suit, and his broad shoulders blocked the only clear escape route down the block.
