Mordred's POV
Finding Roderick in this mess wasn't simple, especially since the coward was bolting. Smart move on his part - staying meant certain death.
Our pack couldn't survive King Caelum's assault.
"Going somewhere?" I lunged forward, grabbing his throat and slamming him down hard.
My fist connected with his face before I locked my hands around his neck.
Had to stop him from shifting. Strong as I was, Roderick in beast form would tear me apart.
So I squeezed - tight enough to control him, loose enough to keep him breathing.
"What are you doing?!" Roderick choked out, clawing at my grip. Pathetic. The man couldn't fight to save his life.
"The key. Where is it?" I demanded, searching his pockets with my free hand. Nothing.
"Let go! We're all dead if we don't run!" He thrashed beneath me, trying to shift, but my hold kept his wolf trapped.
I pressed harder until his eyes rolled back.
