West Borough, Morning.
Jace walked around in the streets of West Borough, and he had to say... He was impressed.
West Borough was a place second only to the royal Empress Borough. The structures and buildings here were classy—which gave Jace the feel of what he believed to be the peak Victorian era.
This was the place that housed landmarks like 'King's Avenue' and the 'Royal Museum'—which hosted events like the 'Emperor Roselle Memorial Exhibition'—and 'Bellato Street', where the headquarters of MI9 was situated.
The people here wore clothes made with luxurious silks and whatnot. Hell, he had to buy a couple of expensive suits himself just to fit in here.
Everything here was expensive!
Of course, this wasn't his first time being here. He had been here several times when he was acting as a Faceless... it was also the place where he had an... interesting encounter with a Demoness... But that was a story for another time.
But he had to admit that this was the best place to experience the peak of Backlund.
Of course, there was the Empress Borough, but that place was too difficult to get into unless you were a part of some royal or noble family, or perhaps if you were rich as fuck.
Nonetheless, today Jace wasn't here to act or admire the richness of West Borough; today he was here to hunt.
To Hunt a Sequence 5 'Dream Walker' from the Spectator pathway!
It had been about 2 months since Jace returned from the sea after becoming a Sequence 5.
Right off the bat after sorting himself out, he started acting as a Marionettist with his Sequence 7 Pyromaniac marionette—which he named 'Pyro'. Yes, not the most original name, but what was he supposed to name it?
Since his marionette Pyro was a Hunter, he started making Pyro act as a Hunter. Pyro started working as a bounty hunter, hunting people, making some connections, and whatnot.
It was going well, and his potion was digesting at a acceptable rate, but it was time for a change.
It was time to get a Sequence 5 marionette.
A few minutes after walking, Jace stood before a particular building. Well, it was a clinic.
Obvious as always, his target, who was from the Spectator pathway, was a doctor.
Of course, he wasn't a good one at that; his medicinal skills were outstanding without a doubt, but the doctor often conducted unethical experiments and whatnot.
It took some time for Jace to find a Sequence 5 Dream Walker. After he found one, he stalked him for about two weeks, so he knew every aspect of his daily life.
He still didn't know whether the doctor was related the Psychological Alchemists or not—hopefully not—but regardless, he was still going to make him a marionette.
Jace walked up the few stairs to the door and pushed it open. The interior was pretty classy, as expected.
In the lobby, there were a few neatly dressed but sort of unwell-looking people sitting on the chairs near the left side of the wall.
Right at the end of the lobby was a wooden cubicle where the receptionist sat going through papers.
Jace didn't waste any time looking around.
He directly walked ahead to the receptionist, but instead of waiting before her, he turned right and walked up the flight of stairs to the second floor, where the doctor was according to his divinations.
People noticed him, even the receptionist, but no one stopped him, likely due to the aura he was exuding—well, not him, more like his marionette Pyro.
Jace was of course not going to let this chance of acting go, as the one who was going to hunt the Sequence 5 was not him, but his Sequence 7 marionette!
Currently, Jace was hiding in the metal card after using an 'imitated mirror blink' through the Polymath Ring.
The act of a Sequence 7 defeating a Sequence 5 was bizarre, and he wasn't going to let this opportunity for acting go as it would help his digest the potion.
After climbing the stairs, Jace walked into the hallway of the second floor.
He looked around. There were many rooms around, each likely meant for different purposes.
Jace didn't need to check every room, as he knew exactly where the doctor was; he was in the examining room, examining a patient.
He looked around and found a room on which 'Examining Room' was written. He walked right to the door.
As he walked near, Jace heard the mature voice of the doctor talking to the patient. He continued walking, and a few moments later, he stood before the brown door.
Knock, knock.
Jace knocked and waited for an answer.
"Come in," the doctor said, his voice muffled through the door.
Jace opened the door, walked in, and looked around.
To the left side of the room were medicine cabinets, equipment, a desk full of files, and some other normal things one might find in a doctor's office.
To the right side of the room was a bed half-hidden by a green curtain. There was a slightly overweight, middle-aged man sitting on the bed with his legs down.
The man seemed slightly confused as he looked at Jace and then turned his eyes to the other person in the room.
The doctor stood near the foot of the bed, standing near the chubby man.
He wore a doctor's white coat over a cream-colored shirt with a red tie, with a stethoscope hanging around his neck.
The doctor was a good-looking, tall man in his 40s with some gray hair at his sides. He wore silver-rimmed glasses and had a calm, intellectual air around him.
The doctor—Philip Stone—looked at Jace with a smile. "How can I help you?" he asked calmly with a polite tone.
Jace, or rather 'Pyro', smiled back at the doctor and turned his eyes to the patient sitting on the bed.
The doctor understood what Jace meant. He turned to look at the patient sitting on the bed near him. "Sleep," he said.
The chubby man's eyes turned heavier in an instant as his body slumped onto the bed, half-hidden by the green curtain.
The doctor turned to Pyro, but now his face did not hold the same smile it had before.
Pyro maintained his previous smile at the doctor, but Jace, who hid in the metal card in his marionette Pyro's pocket, smiled widely.
