"How am I going to explain this to Ron? I promised him I'd give Scabbers to him to raise after he started school, but now it's lost. We're so poor, we simply can't afford to buy him a new pet..."
Percy looked dejected, but he wasn't very good at talking.
Mrs. Weasley's face darkened, but she still comforted her third son.
"Alright, Scabbers is lost, it's lost. It's just a mouse, it'll be fine without us. It's getting late, the train's about to leave, we have to go."
"Excuse me for interrupting..." Lynn took two steps closer to the Weasleys, leaning over to attract their attention.
"I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but... is this the mouse you lost?"
He held Scabbers by the tail, presenting the listless, drug-addicted mouse to Mrs. Weasley.
Immediately, the four Weasley brothers excitedly surrounded them.
"That's wonderful! Scabbers didn't get lost!" Percy excitedly took Scabbers from Lynn's hands, looking at him with gratitude.
"Thank you."
George and Fred, on the other hand, immediately put their arms around Lynn's shoulders as if
they were old friends. "My name is Fred, this is George, and these are Percy and Charlie. We all have the surname Weasley. And that's our mother. Thank you so much for finding Scabbers. I don't think I've seen you at school before. Are you a new student at Hogwarts? What's your name?"
Although Lynn was thick-skinned, he was still a little uncomfortable with such intimate treatment on their first meeting. Mrs. Weasley noticed Lynn's embarrassment and angrily slapped the twins' arms off his shoulders, scolding him.
"Politeness! I've told you to be polite in public, otherwise people will say we Weasleys have no manners!"
Her expression softened instantly.
"Thank you, son. Are you going to the station? Didn't your parents come to see you off?"
"It's alright, madam. My parents are just ordinary people, they didn't come." Lynn wasn't lying intentionally; he'd seen far too many pitying looks, and while there was no malice, he was still annoyed.
Mrs. Weasley smiled and patted his shoulder.
"It's getting late. If you don't mind, you can come in with us."
"Of course not, madam. I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Lynn Bellok , a first-year student at Hogwarts this year."
Having received a positive reply, Mrs. Weasley immediately urged her son on.
"Hurry up, the train's about to leave. Charlie, go first, then Lynn, follow behind. Don't be nervous, kids, just close your eyes and go through. Next, Percy, George, and Fred. I'll stay last."
Charlie followed Mrs. Weasley's instructions and went through the wall first. The twins, George and Fred, grinned and winked at each other.
"See? Mom always treats other people's children like her own. We're all adopted." "
Of course, Mom's love is boundless. She can love all the children in the world, except us. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch... Mom, we were wrong!"
Mrs. Weasley grabbed one of the twins by the ear and said irritably, "What nonsense are you talking about? We haven't even arrived at Hogwarts yet, and you're already letting your true nature show. What will you do when you get to school?"
These twins were indeed quite mischievous.
Lynn thought to himself, then followed Charlie, jogging along the wall.
He tried to force himself to keep his eyes open, but when he was less than half a meter from the wall, his brain's reflexes kicked in.
He instinctively closed his eyes, and everything went black.
The next moment, it felt like he had passed through something, yet also like he hadn't passed through anything at all.
"Okay, Lynn, that's enough, you can stop now."
Charlie's voice reached his ears, and Lynn stopped and opened his eyes again.
A bright red steam train came into view.
A prominent sign on the front read:
The Hogwarts Express, departing at 11:00 AM sharp.
The surrounding noise filled his ears—the clatter of suitcases, the hooting of owls, and the chatter of students and families—yet Lynn found it utterly unpleasant.
This place, like Diagon Alley, was a world solely for wizards.
Soon, Percy, the Weasley twins, and Mrs. Weasley followed him through the wall and arrived at the station.
Without further ado, Mrs. Weasley clapped her hands.
"Alright, children, you're about to start a new school term. As always, safety first.
And George and Fred, you two should stop playing pranks. You've only been here a year and you've already given the castle caretaker so many complaints—you're really something! Percy, you're in charge of supervising them. Report to me whatever they do, don't force me to write you two yelling letters.
Remember to take good care of your new friend Lynn, and don't lead him astray with your silly pranks."
George and Fred exchanged a knowing glance, raised their eyebrows, and said in unison,
"We'll be good, Mum."
Mrs. Weasley didn't believe her two mischievous sons' promises at all. She even gave Lynn a homemade sandwich as a thank you gift, telling him not to mind it.
Lynn gladly accepted, said goodbye to Mrs. Weasley, and boarded the Hogwarts Express with the four Weasley brothers.
After they put their suitcases away, Charlie and Percy went off to find their friends.
George and Fred, who were a year older than Lynn, extended an invitation.
"Would you like to sit in the same carriage as us? We can introduce you to our friends. Gryffindor students are all talented and have such pleasant manners."
After a moment's hesitation, Lynn ultimately declined.
"No, I'll find a carriage for new students. Everyone's just starting out, and it'll be easier to get along if we meet up beforehand. However, once we get to Hogwarts, I'll need your help to familiarize myself with the school."
Upon hearing this, George and Fred puffed out their chests.
"You've come to the right people! When it comes to knowing Hogwarts, even the professors might not know as much as we do.
See you at school then, and I hope you get sorted into Gryffindor."
After parting ways with the Weasley brothers, Lynn leisurely wandered around the train carriages.
Finally, he found a compartment that wasn't full.
He sat down and introduced himself with a smile.
"Hello, I'm Lynn Bellok ."
