Elena had finally fallen into a deep, exhausted sleep.
Serena stayed with her for a while, gently stroking her hair and watching her breathe peacefully.
Once she was sure Elena wouldn't wake up, Serena carefully slipped her arm out from under her and eased off the bed. She moved silently, tucking the blanket around Elena.
Serena quietly slipped out of the bedroom, careful not to wake Elena. She moved silently down the hallway and entered the living room.
Lila was standing near the large windows, wearing a short silk nightdress. The moment she saw Serena, she walked over quickly but stopped a respectful distance away.
"Serena…" The redhead called softly, her voice gentle but clearly worried. "Who is that girl?"
Serena sighed and rubbed her temple.
"Not now, Lila."
Lila looked down for a moment, then took one small step closer. Her tone remained soft and submissive.
