Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Duraf's Diona Special Brew

Margaret waved her hand and said, "It's little Freya. What brings you to visit me today? Would you like to try some freshly baked Mondstadt Grilled Fish? It's our specialty."

Siegfrieda couldn't help but swallow as she thought of the delicious grilled fish: "Delicious grilled fish, slurp."

"No need, Miss Margaret. I'm here to find Diona."

Margaret nodded regretfully. She remembered this child could eat a lot. Had she eaten her fill today?

Margaret said regretfully, "Alright."

"But remember, the Cats Tail Tavern does not sell alcohol to minors."

Upon hearing this, Siegfrieda immediately leaned forward and pleaded sweetly, "Sister Margaret, please make an exception! You know my job is delivering goods. Someone placed an order from the Cats Tail Tavern with me. I promise I won't drink any alcohol!"

Margaret smiled and said, "Really? Show me the order."

Siegfrieda hesitated, "This... might not be appropriate."

Margaret said, "Then there's nothing I can do. If I sell the alcohol to you and you secretly drink it, the Cats Tail Tavern will be fined by the Knights of Favonius, and we'll have to close for three days."

Siegfrieda hesitated for a long time, finally taking out the delivery manifest. She leaned close to Margaret's ear and whispered, "Sister Margaret, you absolutely must keep this a secret for me!"

Margaret smiled, "Alright, I promise not to leak your business secret."

In Margaret's view, Siegfrieda's delivery business was just a small venture that wouldn't earn much money even after a busy day, but to protect the child's self-esteem, she still gave a serious assurance.

Taking the product list Siegfrieda handed over, Margaret took a close look and burst out laughing, "That Duraf actually came up with this method. I really don't know what to say about him."

"He's really dedicated just to have a drink."

Siegfrieda whispered anxiously, "Sister Margaret, you promised to keep it a secret for me."

Margaret gently patted Siegfrieda's shoulder, returned the product list to her, and comforted her:

"Don't worry, little Freya."

"Duraf and I are old friends from drinking together. I won't betray him."

Siegfrieda asked doubtfully, "Sister Margaret knows Uncle Duraf?"

Margaret proudly patted her chest and said confidently, "Of course! Have you heard of the Four Heavenly Kings of Drinking in Mondstadt? Me, the boss who doesn't work! Duraf, the hunter with the strange ears!"

Siegfrieda's eyes widened in surprise, finding it hard to believe that the elegant and beautiful lady before her was a Drunkard like Uncle Duraf.

Margaret seemed to have found a topic and excitedly said, "Let me tell you, Diona only secretly came to Mondstadt because Duraf asked me to take her in."

"Diona still thinks to this day that I took her back to the Cats Tail Tavern by coincidentally finding a kitten while I was out..."

"Oh dear! I got too excited and let something slip. Little Freya, you must keep this a secret for me."

Siegfrieda nodded blankly.

Margaret praised, "Good child. Diona is over there. Go find her yourself."

Siegfrieda: "... Alright."

Bringing Amu, Siegfrieda walked toward the bar of the Cats Tail Tavern. The cute Diona was wiping wine glasses.

It was still early, and the revelry of the Drunkards only happened in the evening, so there were few customers in the Cats Tail Tavern.

Looking at Diona concentrating on wiping the glasses, Siegfrieda took the initiative to greet her: "Diona, good morning."

Diona looked up, and upon seeing the visitor, smiled sweetly, "Good morning, Sister Freya."

Seeing such a cute Diona, Siegfrieda suddenly felt a pang of guilt. She was about to deceive Diona, which was terrible, but she had already broken her professional ethics once today and couldn't make another exception.

Diona asked, "Sister Freya, and this strange friend, what would you like to drink?"

Siegfrieda thought for a moment and said, "Two glasses of Milk, please."

Afterward, Siegfrieda took the initiative to introduce, "This wooden man is called Amu. He is my new friend and business partner. Don't mind his strange appearance; he's actually very easy to get along with."

Amu nodded and greeted actively, "Hello, fuzzy young lady."

Diona: "Hah!!!"

Siegfrieda: "Ah!!!"

Amu: "Huh???"

After a brief commotion involving frantic scratching from the cat, the scene finally calmed down thanks to Siegfrieda's efforts.

Siegfrieda helplessly held her forehead and said, "Amu, don't casually give people nicknames. It's very rude. Just call her Diona."

Amu, with a few scratches on his face, replied, "Oh, Diona, hello."

Diona haughtily raised her head and snorted, "Hmph!"

Siegfrieda apologized for Amu, "Diona, I'm very sorry. Amu hasn't been around for long and doesn't know much about human society."

Amu imitated Siegfrieda's posture, put his hands together, and bowed, "I am very sorry."

The haughty little cat took two glasses of hot Milk from behind the counter and placed them in front of the two, signaling that she forgave Amu.

Looking at the cute Diona, Siegfrieda couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle softly, but worried Diona might notice, she quickly turned around and pretended to sip the Milk, while her shoulders continuously shook, making her pretense obvious.

Diona gave her an exasperated look.

Siegfrieda picked up the appropriately warm Milk and drank it all in one go. She suddenly remembered that Amu, as an element creation, usually didn't eat, so she turned to look at him, only to find him imitating her, bringing the hot Milk to his mouth.

Siegfrieda: "Wait!"

"Amu, can you eat?"

Amu tilted his head, looked at the empty cup, and let out a small burp.

Siegfrieda: "Never mind, it's just one glass of Milk; it should be fine."

"However, as my important employee, Amu's health is indeed worth paying attention to. I should go back and ask Mr. Arkz about it."

At this moment, an uncle wearing an Adventurer uniform walked in. Before he even reached the bar, he shouted from a distance, "Little Diona, give me a Cats Tail Special Brew!"

"I'm dead tired today. I need to relax properly at the Cats Tail Tavern and enjoy little Diona's craftsmanship."

Diona frowned angrily, "Uncle Doug, you're here for a drink again. You get completely drunk every time."

Uncle Doug laughed, "Haha, little Diona, don't be angry. I promise I won't drink too much tonight; I definitely won't get drunk."

Diona snorted coldly, "You say that every time. I don't believe you Drunkards."

Although she said that, Diona still obediently went to mix the drink for Doug. Although she strongly disliked alcohol and dreamed of destroying Mondstadt's brewing industry, Diona would only mix drinks with bizarre ingredients if the customer specifically requested it.

Just like the drink she was mixing for Doug now, which used normal and ordinary ingredients.
