Chapter 12 - Preparation for Debut

"So tiring" I mumbled as fell head first into the pillow.

I had already returned to my castle.

The adrenaline had finally worn off as I reviewed what had happened today.

Performing a song, signing a contract and taking the virginity of my knight. It was a hectic day with lot of twists, but finally, it was all over.

My main goal is become rank 10 Yodh, and best way to accomplish this was to going to school.

Yes, school. This was the netherworld, or in other words, hell. An institution such as dreaded school should not come as surprise to anyone.

The anime mairimashita iruma-kun is a slice of life in school setting.

So, my plan was simple as they come. Join Babyls devil school at the same time as cannon happened. Use knowledge of anime to climb up the rank quickly, for that, I need to become strong and versatile.

I already have both connections and money required if I want to join the school and excel at it. Which I already have it.

According to anime I still have around a year left before the cannon starts, so I need to start training now.

First step is become rank 6 Vav, power wise before start of the school.

....

-General POV-

Valerie spun around in perfect synchronization with the pulsing rhythm of music. She moved with a fluid grace that made it seem as though she had been dancing for years. Each step was executed with perfection, her body flowing from one movement to another without any hint of hesitation.

Even the simplest dance moves became something special when she did them, with perfection, and Valerie's perfect posture was the embodiment of that.

Her shoulders were back, her chin held high and her gaze focused with intensity. It was clear that she had trained tirelessly to get to this point. And her hard work had paid off.

It wad as if she was channeling the music through her body, transforming it into a mesmerizing display of skills and artistry.

*Clap*

"Excellent, truly flawless dancing"

Meri applauded with enthusiasm. She is not even exaggerating. Valerie was by far best talent they have acquired to date. With singing and dancing lessons they had drilled into her, it was evident that Valerie was a genius. A phenomenal genius.

Her voice was like silk, effortlessly bringing out the true meaning of each song she sang.

Even her dancing skills, which were practically nonexistent before, become polished to a point that no one could ever compare.

"Well, I had good teacher" Valerie said while wiping the sweat from her brow.

"It's rare to find such a polite devil these days" Meri said with wide smile on her face.

Though, Meri could go on and on about enrapturing points of Valerie, she cleared her throat and got down to business.

"Your debut date has been decided. It's going to be one week from now at Makubari Dome"

Meri announced, her expression bright with excitement.

"Makubari Dome? How? Don't only popular artists get to perform there?" Valerie asked her in bewilderment. Even if she is promising, it is unnatural to perform in Makubari Dome right of the bat. After all performing in Makubari Dome is a big opportunity and it just seems to fall in to her lap.

Makuhari wasn't just a venue. It was a proving ground.

Thousands of lights. Thousands of eyes. A place where even legends felt small for a moment.

"Yes" Meri said with a proud smile on her face, as she pushed her glasses up making them shine in the light. "Usually, yes. But this time, one of the evidol performers went into her evil cycle, so I suggested you as replacement."

"Really, that's great, I'll shine brightest in the grandest stage" Valerie said confidently.

"It was just a matter of pulling some strings. So, do your devi-best in the debut" Meri said, as it was trivial matter, she turned to leave without looking back.

"It's looks like my choice was right back then" Valerie though so silently in her heart.

And threw herself back at training.

Late that night, Valerie stood alone in an empty rehearsal hall.

No audience.

No lights.

Just silence.

She raised her hand… as if reaching toward an invisible crowd.

"…I won't just debut."

Her voice was calm again.

"I'll make them remember my name."

And in that moment—

Valerie Noctis stopped being someone preparing for a stage.

She became someone who would conquer it.
