"Hey, did you hear?" Liam paused. "Hear what?"
"They're saying Mandy likes someone."
Something in his chest dropped.
Mandy was there, talking to the class mayor again. Laughing.
"…I see," he muttered. It shouldn't bother him. They weren't anything. He had no right.
And yet—
His eyes stayed there. Watching. "…What?"
"I don't know who, though," Mark added. "But people are talking."
Liam looked toward the front of the classroom. Thinking.
"Is it him?"
