Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Drink It

As for other ninjutsu, even the basic five great ninjutsu, the channels for civilians to learn them are very limited.

When Naruto was young, he bought many scrolls from the market to study, all kept in his training room.

Unfortunately, they were all just worthless scrolls, not a single one useful.

This is the information barrier and lack of connections ordinary civilians face; even if they spend money, they cannot obtain good ninjutsu, only a pile of useless junk.

Occasionally, luck might allow them to find something good, but the probability is like buying a lottery ticket.

"You're right, this is my first time visiting."

Uchiha Hazuki stood at the door, slightly frowning.

This Uchiha Kiyoshi is too rude.

He doesn't know what he's thinking, just staring at her as if frozen for a long time.

  "Please come in."

Kiyoshi slightly turned aside, making a gesture inviting her in.

Uchiha Hazuki stepped into the courtyard, her gaze slowly scanning the surroundings.

The grass in the yard seemed to have not been tended for a while, with many weeds growing.

She thought perhaps Kiyoshi had recently participated in the Chunin Exams, which caused the neglect of yard maintenance.

The exterior walls of the house were similarly weathered; the originally black wood had turned grayish-white, and the tiles on the eaves were covered with a thin layer of dust.

Entering the house, the interior looked similar to the exterior.

  Everything looked quite run-down.

A hint of subtle disdain flickered in her eyes.

However, there were many scrolls inside.

There was even a simple bookshelf in the living room, filled with all kinds of scrolls, including many medical books.

This gave Uchiha Hazuki a slightly different impression of Kiyoshi.

  That is, he is studious.

"Please sit, I'll make some tea."

Seeing Uchiha Hazuki inspecting everything, Kiyoshi smiled slightly, not in a hurry.

Sometimes, letting the prey relax a little makes their muscles tense at the exact moment of capture.

Kiyoshi went to the kitchen to make tea.

Now he no longer needed to stand on a stool; he could make tea easily.

Uchiha Hazuki continued observing, catching a subtle movement on the floor with her peripheral vision.

A white snake crawled slowly through the gap in the tatami mats, moving steadily and lazily, its snow-white scales reflecting a faint cold light under the dim illumination.

It seemed to sense Hazuki's gaze, slightly lifting its head, its cold snake eyes meeting hers for a brief instant before disappearing into the shadows of the room.

Uchiha Hazuki knelt at the low table, surprised that Kiyoshi even raised a summoning beast.

  Such a C-rank ninjutsu—who taught him this?

Uchiha Hazuki recalled, it was probably Yakushi Nonoyu.

During Kiyoshi's first participation in the gathering under the South Naga Shrine, Fugaku had mentioned this matter.

"The leader of the medical team, huh."

  Uchiha Hazuki thought to herself.

She just hoped these ten sets of chainmail would satisfy Kiyoshi.

Regret welled up in her heart; she shouldn't have delayed giving Kiyoshi the ninjutsu, waiting a whole month before bringing him to receive it.

Sensing Hazuki's slight unease outside, Kiyoshi's ocular power reacted.

This helpless and remorseful expression was rather interesting.

Soon, Kiyoshi brought a cup of tea in front of Uchiha Hazuki.

Uchiha Hazuki looked at the cup.

It was a cheap cup, she didn't know where it came from, with some black spots.

She didn't know if it was tea stains from frequent use, or something else.

Already troubled by Kiyoshi's matter, Hazuki had even less mood to drink tea.

She looked up at Kiyoshi and said:

"These are ten sets of chainmail."

Uchiha Hazuki took out a sealing scroll. "This scroll is also for you."

"Ah, then I really have to thank you for being so generous, Hazuki-nee."

  Kiyoshi smiled slightly.

The small gestures Hazuki made since entering had not escaped Kiyoshi's notice.

"Since you're so generous, giving me a genjutsu scroll won't be a problem either, right?"

  "!"

  Uchiha Hazuki widened her eyes.

She had already expected Kiyoshi to make a bold request, but she hadn't expected him to be this shameless.

She had learned genjutsu, but that was based on completing many mission assignments to earn the experience.

Kiyoshi hadn't done anything, yet he wanted her labor's results?

"Kiyoshi, you've been here long enough; you should understand manners."

Uchiha Hazuki softly spoke with her lips slightly parted.

"Hehe, but Hazuki-nee, you don't understand manners either; you disdain my place, don't you?"

  "Impossible, Kiyoshi."
