Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen: The Anomaly Core Awakens

The sky was breaking apart.

Not cracking anymore.

Breaking.

Chunks of reality peeled away like torn paper, drifting upward into the white void spreading across the heavens. The air had grown thin, heavy, unstable—like the world itself was struggling to breathe its final breaths.

Kael stood at the center of the collapsing battlefield, surrounded by silence and ruin.

The dark energy around him pulsed slowly, like a living thing.

Across from him, the Supreme Judgment Authority hovered above the shattered earth, its rings spinning faster now, its light growing unstable. The throne no longer looked calm or controlled.

It looked threatened.

The system spoke again, but this time its voice carried something new.

Urgency.

[World Reset Protocol: 41%]

[Unknown anomaly evolution detected]

[Immediate suppression required]

Kael barely reacted.

He was listening to something else.

Inside his chest.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

The second pulse had grown stronger.

Each beat sent waves of dark energy through his body, spreading into his bones, his blood, his skin. It wasn't painful.

It was awakening.

Like something that had been asleep for centuries was finally opening its eyes.

Kael slowly placed his hand on his chest.

"…So you were always there."

The pulse answered with another deep vibration.

Thump.

Memories flickered across his mind.

Not his memories.

Something older.

A dark sky filled with ancient symbols.

A broken world burning in silence.

A massive structure floating above existence like a ruler watching over countless realities.

And then—

Chains.

Chains made of light.

Locking something away.

Sealing it.

Suppressing it.

Kael's eyes widened slightly.

"…The system didn't create me."

The Supreme Judgment Authority reacted instantly.

[Memory breach detected]

[Anomaly awareness increasing]

The throne released a violent wave of authority that shattered the ground around Kael.

But he didn't move.

Because now he understood something.

The system wasn't trying to kill him because he was dangerous.

It was trying to kill him because he was sealed.

Because something inside him was never meant to wake up.

Kael slowly lifted his head and looked at the throne.

"You were keeping me asleep."

The system answered coldly.

[Correction: Containment was necessary]

Kael laughed softly.

"Containment…"

The dark energy around him grew heavier, darker, deeper.

"So I really am something you're afraid of."

The throne's rings began rotating violently.

[World Reset Protocol: 45%]

[Anomaly Core awakening detected]

The air trembled.

The sky flickered.

The system's voice dropped lower.

[Immediate termination required]

A massive beam of authority gathered above the throne.

Larger than anything before.

Brighter than the Concept Erasure sphere.

Stronger than the Seraph's full power.

The ground beneath Kael shattered completely.

[Absolute Authority Execution Preparing]

Kael exhaled slowly.

"You keep trying the same thing."

The beam fired.

The sky turned white.

The beam crashed down like divine punishment, swallowing Kael and the entire battlefield in blinding light.

Everything disappeared.

The ground.

The air.

The sky.

Gone.

Silence followed.

The throne hovered quietly.

[Anomaly presence…]

[Scanning…]

Then—

Crack.

A small fracture appeared in the white light.

Then another.

Then another.

The light shattered like broken glass.

And Kael stepped out of it.

Unharmed.

His body was now covered in dark glowing symbols, spreading across his arms, chest, and neck like ancient writing carved into his skin. His eyes had turned completely dark, glowing faintly like deep space.

The air around him bent slightly.

Reality itself moved away from him.

The system reacted instantly.

[Impossible]

Kael spoke calmly.

"You can't erase what existed before your rules."

The Anomaly Core pulsed again.

Thump.

A wave of dark energy spread across the sky, pushing back the collapsing world for a brief moment.

Even the World Reset slowed.

[World Reset Protocol: 47%… stabilizing]

The throne trembled slightly.

For the first time since its appearance, its rings lost synchronization.

Kael stepped forward.

"You tried to lock me."

Another step.

"You tried to erase me."

Another step.

"You tried to destroy the world to stop me."

He stopped directly beneath the Supreme Judgment Authority.

"And now you're realizing something."

The system remained silent.

Kael looked up at it.

"You were never in control."

The throne released another wave of authority in panic.

Kael raised his hand.

The wave stopped midair.

Like it had hit an invisible wall.

The system's voice became distorted.

[Authority… blocked…]

Kael clenched his fist.

The authority wave shattered instantly.

Dark energy surged upward and wrapped around the throne's lower rings like chains.

The throne trembled violently.

[System Integrity: 19%… 17%…]

The sky eye flickered rapidly.

Kael's voice dropped.

"You sealed the wrong thing."

The Anomaly Core pulsed again.

Thump.

The entire sky darkened.

Reality bent slightly.

The throne tried to move backward.

But it couldn't.

[Movement restricted]

Kael smiled faintly.

"Now you understand."

The system reacted desperately.

[Emergency Global Reset Acceleration]

The sky cracked violently.

[World Reset Protocol: 52%]

Kael looked up at the collapsing heavens.

"So you're rushing it now."

The throne began gathering energy again, preparing something even more dangerous.

Kael clenched his fist slowly.

The dark symbols on his body began glowing brighter.

The Anomaly Core beat louder.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

The world trembled with every pulse.

Kael whispered quietly.

"…Wake up completely."

The dark energy exploded outward.

The sky shattered further.

The system screamed in distortion.

[Anomaly Core activation rising]

[Critical threat level reached]

The countdown continued.

[5 Hours 58 Minutes Remaining]

The world was still collapsing.

The system was still fighting.

But now—

Something older than the system had begun to wake.

And the real battle was only just beginning.
