Chapter 8 - TTSF-008

Rosetta's wings fluttered nervously as she gestured toward the pile of soft cushions she'd prepared.

"Uhm... Y-you can rest here for the night," she stammered as she avoided Zenith's gaze.

"So... uhm, I'll see you in the mornin'," she said shyly before scurrying off.

Zenith watched Rosetta's retreating form with an amused curve of his lips.

Her wings blurring as she vanished behind a curtain of leaves separating her sleeping quarters.

"Good night, Rosetta," Zenith murmured toward the rustling leaf curtain, his voice warm yet laced with amusement.

He settled onto the pile of cushions, their softness yielding beneath him as he exhaled slowly.

Outside, the rhythmic chirp of insects echoed through the night air.

It wasn't long before he drifted off into a deep sleep.

After experiencing so many fantastical events in a single night, his exhaustion had finally caught up to him.

'Has he fallen asleep already?' Rosetta thought nervously as she peeked through the curtain.

Zenith lay sprawled across the cushions, his chest rising and falling steadily.

Rosetta's eyes softened as she stood there for a while longer, watching him sleep.

A cute smile had unknowingly graced her beautiful lips at some point.

"Good night, Zenith," she whispered softly, her wings fluttering as she retreated behind the leaf curtain.

The first rays of dawn filtered through the translucent petals of Rosetta's home, painting the interior in soft pink hues.

Zenith stirred gently, his gem-like blue eyes fluttering open slowly.

For a disorienting moment, he had forgotten where he was, until the memories from yesterday snapped into place.

He sat up abruptly, patting his own chest as if to confirm his existence.

'So, it wasn't a dream after all,' he thought, staring at his hands in wonder.

At that moment, a faint rustling came from behind the leaf curtain, followed by Rosetta's sleepy murmur.

"It's mornin' already?" She muttered, slowly emerging from her quarters.

Rosetta stretched delicately, her wings shimmering as she blinked sleep from her eyes.

"Mornin', sugar," she murmured, stifling a yawn behind her hand. "Slept well?"

Zenith quickly sobered up, the last traces of confusion vanishing as Rosetta's words registered.

The reality of his situation crashed over him anew; he really was in Pixie Hollow.

"Morning, Rosetta."

"I slept... surprisingly well actually, " he admitted.

"That's wonderful to hear!"

"Now, we've got ourselves a busy day ahead." She announced, suddenly energized.

"First, we'll take you to the Sewing-talents to get you some new clothes, and then... we'll introduce you to my friends!"

Rosetta's excitement only grew as she spoke, her wings humming with anticipation.

"Haha, alright then, I'm ready whenever you are," Zenith chuckled, it was impossible not to be caught up in her enthusiasm.

Thirty minutes later, and they were ready to depart.

Rosetta had fussed over what she'd wear for about half that time, flitting between various dresses before finally settling on a deep crimson-rose gown.

Zenith waited patiently by the entrance, watching intently as Rosetta came out from behind the leaf curtains.

She carefully adjusted the final petal-fold of her gown.

"Perfect," she declared at last, twirling once before drifting toward Zenith.

"Sorry for the wait, now it's time to go!" She said excitedly.

"Haha, please lead the way, my lady." Zenith replied with a soft smile, causing Rosetta to blush slightly.

The petal door unfurled with a whisper as Rosetta led Zenith out into the morning light.

Spring valley was filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers and plants, bursting with color and new life.

The air hummed with motion as the garden-talent fairies fluttered about their morning routines.

Standing at the threshold, the familiar blue glow shimmered to life around Zenith as he lifted effortlessly into the air, hovering beside Rosetta.

"Look at you, sugar. Like you've been doing this forever," she giggled playfully.

Zenith smiled, "I had a really good teacher," He responded with equal playfulness.

The duo was finally about to take off, "Now then, let's... Ah!" in that instant, Rosetta's words were abruptly cut off.

A blur of violet streaked across their path, so fast it sent Rosetta's curls whipping backward.

"Vidia!" Rosetta huffed, planting her hands on her hips.

When she heard her name being shouted so loudly, the fast-flying fairy skidded to a halt midair.

Her sudden brake kicked up a swirl of flower petals and pollen as she whirled around to face them.
