Dream
"You're mine... and no one else's."
Those silver orbs burned into her soul-filled with pain, possession, and something far more dangerous. Evelyn couldn't see his full face, couldn't touch him... yet she felt him.
Every time.
Those eyes had haunted her since the night she turned eighteen.
"No... I'm not," she whispered weakly.
Sunlight suddenly pierced through her vision.
Evelyn's eyes snapped open, her sea-blue gaze stinging as she raised her hand to block the light.
"Who said you are?"
Jade's voice pulled her fully into reality.
Evelyn sat up slowly, her breathing uneven.
"Nothing... just ignore it."
"Oh really? The same words-for the twenty-fifth time?" Jane replied, crossing her arms. "Okay, we'll ignore it. Thank you very much."
"Evelyn," Jade said gently, sitting beside her. "Please tell us what's wrong. We're your friends. We can help you."
Evelyn hesitated.
Then sighed.
"Alright... I've been having dreams. About a man."
Jane and Jade exchanged looks.
"He has silver eyes," Evelyn continued softly. "He just... stares at me. And he keeps saying I belong to him."
She swallowed.
"At first, I thought it was nothing. Just a random dream. It started two years ago... once or twice a month."
Her fingers tightened around the bedsheet.
"But now... it feels real. Like I owe him something." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "And the strangest part is... it feels dangerously good."
Silence filled the room.
Jane blinked.
Jade frowned.
Evelyn scoffed bitterly. "I knew you wouldn't understand me. Forget it."
"We do understand," Jane said quickly. "But maybe you're overthinking it. It's just a dream."
"Yeah," Jade added softly. "Just push it away. It's not worth stressing over."
She paused before adding carefully-
"And... you should focus on your future. Your father wants you married. Maybe focus on that?"
Evelyn's expression hardened instantly.
Without another word, she stood up and walked into the bathroom.
After freshening up, Evelyn made her way downstairs to the dining hall. The scent of warm food filled the air, but her thoughts were still trapped in those silver eyes.
"Good morning, Dad. Good morning, Mum," she said, taking her seat beside her mother.
"Good morning, my angel," King Dave replied warmly.
Queen Victoria leaned in and pecked Evelyn on the cheek, making her smile faintly.
"How was your night?" he asked.
Evelyn paused for a brief second.
"It was perfect, Dad."
She took a bite of her pancakes, hiding the truth behind a soft smile.
Later that afternoon, Evelyn sat with her father beneath the shade of a large tree. The breeze was calm, the atmosphere peaceful.
For a moment, everything felt normal.
They sipped wine as King Dave spoke about the kingdom-its history, its myths, its future.
Then suddenly-
"Are you seeing someone?" he asked.
Evelyn blinked. "What?"
"Don't you want to get married, Angel?"
She let out a small laugh. "No, I'm not ready. Not until I find the right man."
King Dave's expression changed.
"No... that won't do. You must get married."
Evelyn sat upright. "No, Dad. I'll marry someone I love."
His tone hardened. "You don't get to decide that."
"And why not?" she snapped. "It's my life."
Silence.
Tension.
Then-
"Enough!" King Dave's voice rose. "You will marry the man I choose."
Evelyn stood up immediately. "No. I won't."
Days passed.
Evelyn was no longer allowed to leave the palace.
King Dave had made his decision-she would be married within six days.
But Evelyn refused.
The day her supposed future husband arrived, she didn't show up.
She stayed locked in her room.
The next day-
The same thing.
Even Jade and Jane couldn't get through to her.
She sat alone, hugging her knees, lost in her thoughts.
All her life, she had never truly known love.
Not the kind that made your heart race.
Not the kind that made you feel alive.
And maybe that was why she had grown so stubborn.
So guarded.
So afraid.
But now...
She wanted to change.
She wanted to feel something real.
Something powerful.
Something dangerous.
And somehow-
Those silver eyes...
Already made her feel it.
