Neuvillette stood in the slightly crowded courtyard, his gaze calmly scanning the crowd before him. His presence seemed to carry an invisible aura, causing the originally noisy queue to gradually quiet down.
"Please form two lines," his voice was not loud, yet it reached everyone's ears clearly. "One line for receiving sacred objects, and the other for the Awakening ceremony."
A small commotion broke out in the crowd, but order was quickly restored under Neuvillette's steady gaze. Furina watched from the side, dumbfounded—she previously had to shout herself hoarse just to get these people to be slightly obedient.
"You," Neuvillette turned to Furina, "please focus on the production of the sacred objects. I will handle the other matters."
"Oh, oh, okay!" Furina nodded hurriedly and began making cakes in a fluster.
Neuvillette took out an exquisite-looking notebook and a pen from somewhere—he didn't know why he had a pen either, and could only attribute it to some ability granted by Furina summoning him to this world.
He began to methodically register the information of those who came seeking help.
"Name? Age? Place of residence? Purpose of coming here?" His questions were concise and clear, causing even the nervous commoners to answer seriously.
When someone tried to cut in line, Neuvillette only needed a single glance to make them retreat back to their place. When two women argued over their turn, he settled the dispute with just a few words, providing a solution that left both parties speechless.
While making cakes, Furina secretly observed Neuvillette's efficiency. Furina hadn't expected Neuvillette to know the script of this world, but she quickly attributed it to the System's functions. After all, if a transmigrator couldn't even read or write the script, there would likely be a lot of trouble.
In just an hour, the entire courtyard had become orderly. Everyone waited patiently, a world away from the previous chaotic scene.
"This is just too amazing..." Furina muttered softly, the speed of her cake-making unconsciously quickening.
At noon, the flow of people temporarily decreased. Neuvillette closed his notebook and walked toward Furina, who was wiping away sweat.
"According to this morning's statistics, eighty-seven people received sacred objects, and twenty-three children underwent Awakening tests. Among them, two were detected with weak Soul Power: one child has Level 1 Soul Power, and the other has Level 3 Soul Power." His report was concise and accurate. "I suggest fixing the Awakening test times to Tuesday and Friday mornings for better coordination. Additionally, they must be informed that they must be at least 6 years old; thirty-one children were under 6... I can understand their desire to get ahead, but such behavior is meaningless."
Furina opened her mouth, momentarily unsure of what to say. Having managed the Axis Cult for so long, she had always managed things casually; she had never had such precise data and plans.
"Uh, okay, let's do as you say..." she replied somewhat guiltily.
Neuvillette nodded slightly and continued, "Furthermore, regarding the production of sacred objects, I observed that you need to make them manually every time. Have you considered mass production to improve efficiency?"
Furina blinked: "Mass production? But my Spirit Ability can only make one at a time..."
Neuvillette pondered for a moment: "Perhaps we can try to break down the production process. You will be responsible for the core step of injecting Soul Power, while the preliminary preparation and Late Stage distribution can be handled by others. Although I am not sure if the quality will suffer, in the end, it probably won't be much worse. Moreover, the efficiency will be much higher. Considering it's free, quantity can compensate for quality."
Just then, the three members of the Salon Solitaire strolled back. Mademoiselle Crabaletta's pincers were stained with flour, Gentilhomme Usher's tentacle was curled around a spoon, and Surintendante Chevalmarin floated nearby, supervising something.
Neuvillette's gaze fell upon them, and he seemed to have an idea: "It seems we already have suitable assistants."
Over the next few days, the way the Axis Cult operated underwent an earth-shattering change. Under Neuvillette's arrangement, Mademoiselle Crabaletta was responsible for maintaining order, Gentilhomme Usher assisted in registering information, and Surintendante Chevalmarin supervised the storage and distribution of supplies.
What surprised Furina the most was that Neuvillette even began teaching a few literate believers basic recording and statistical methods, gradually establishing a simple but effective management System.
"Do we really need to be so... formal?" Furina couldn't help but ask one day.
Neuvillette put down the ledger in his hand—yes, he had even started keeping accounts—and replied calmly, "Any organization that wishes to develop long-term needs a certain level of order and rules. If you hope for the Axis Cult to truly help more people, this is a necessary step."
Looking at the orderly scene in the courtyard, where the believers' faces no longer held the confusion and urgency of the past but rather a bit more peace of mind and trust, Furina finally nodded.
"You're right. Then..." She revealed a cunning smile, "I'll leave these troublesome matters to you, Mr. Envoy!"
Neuvillette watched Furina as she dashed away, letting out an almost inaudible sigh, though the corners of his mouth turned up in a nearly invisible arc.
"Let's continue the work."
The Iudex's management work in another world was progressing steadily. Meanwhile, Furina happily discovered that she finally had time to research that system mall she had never had the chance to explore carefully—under the excuse of slacking off, of course.
