As soon as the Grand Elder started the fight between Lin and Wang Tao's brother Liang Hao in the Life & Death Arena, an intense silence spread across the arena.
Lin was standing there, prepared, and Liang Hao was in front, furious.
Liang Hao immediately began to provoke Lin:
"You are the biggest trash I've ever seen," he said.
"I don't think you killed my brother, but your cultivation has improved drastically in just a few days. I think you met a demonic sect, or maybe spirits helped you. You must have acquired the core. If you tell me the truth now, I might just let you go."
Liang Hao continued verbally attacking, calling Lin a bastard, worthless, trash, using ruthless words.
Lin listened carefully and realized that this verbal attack could serve as a source of Epiphany Points for him.
Lin self-analyzed:
"So many disciples, Grand Elders, and masters are watching. I should exploit this."
Lin provoked Liang Hao:
"I killed your brother," Lin said calmly.
"He was trash. He tried to kill me, so it was a fair fight. The strong survive, that's the law of this world, the law of cultivation. Your brother was weak, and so are you. How dare you talk to me like this?"
Liang Hao became furious and directly attacked.
Lin maintained a defensive stance, thinking that if he overextended, his cultivation could be disturbed.
Liang Hao continued his deadly attacks.
Lin maintained his defensive stance and activated his Velt Sword Technique.
Liang Hao was injured from the first attack.
Lin performed consecutive attacks, forcing Liang Hao to retreat.
Liang Hao activated his Horn Shield Technique, which could withstand up to Body Refining Third Level.
But Lin launched relentless attacks.
Cracks appeared in the shield.
Lin delivered a final attack, and the shield broke. Liang Hao was almost defeated.
But then the Grand Elder intervened.
"Enough! You are both talented disciples. I cannot allow either of you to die. Stop this fight immediately," he said.
"You will now be sent to the Outer Sect. You do not need to complete any task. You defeated our talented Inner Sect disciples, so you are eligible to enter the Great Inner Sect."
Lin refused the Grand Elder:
"I will fight fair. The Life & Death Arena is where this fight should end. Only when one of us dies will it finish."
The Elders and spectators were shocked.
Everyone thought, "Is this young boy really ignoring the Grand Elder?"
This refusal gave Lin multiple Epiphany Points.
The Grand Elder became slightly angry and attacked Lin.
Lin retreated and stopped on a tile in the corner of the arena. This tile was an Ancient God Fragment.
As Lin reached the tile, a Small World was about to open.
The system detected that Lin had started a Hidden Quest.
The system notified:
"You have completed 50% of the Hidden Quest. Half of the quest reward is ready. The remaining requires you to extract the system fragment in the Small World."
Sect Master Appearance and Instructions
At that moment, the Sect Master appeared in the arena and addressed all the disciples:
"You Grand Elder focus only on suppressing our talented disciples, keeping them in check, sometimes even killing them. But now a Small World is about to appear. Our sect can gain massive resources and talented disciples from it."
Sect Master continued:
"This Small World appeared a hundred years ago, and many of our talented disciples were lost then. I will not allow any of our talented disciples to die this time. All disciples who are at Body Refining first, second, or third level may enter the Small World. Be aware: disciples from nearby sects will also arrive—they killed our disciples before, and our sect suffered greatly. You must not allow anyone to die here. No one is stronger than me!"
The Sect Master then gave clear instructions for the upcoming days:
"In the next ten days, a Small World will appear near Demon Valley. You must strengthen your foundation, stabilize your cultivation, and maximize your strength. Only then can you bring back resources and honor to our sect. This Small World opens once every hundred years and appears randomly. Many demons and disciples from other sects will come to compete for resources, so be prepared."
The Sect Master paused, observing the disciples:
"Focus on your training. Strengthen your Body Refining levels—first, second, and third. Make your foundation solid. Only then will you be able to gain the maximum advantage from this Small World. Go now, and prepare yourselves."
The Sect Master then disappeared.
All disciples dispersed to prepare, focusing on training and stabilizing their cultivation.
Lin observed silently, analyzing the upcoming Small World, the system fragment, and his remaining Hidden Quest tasks.
