"And I guess you knew we were brothers and you decided to make me your fake boyfriend right? Explain that to me." Li asked.
"Yeah but then, why not have some fun until it's time for us to actually be serious. In between, did you get the messages I sent after the first few?" Zhao asked.
"Messages? Oh wait. I just remembered something I wanted to do. Tell Jade I wanted equal rights in the company. Zhao held him down to the ground.
Their parents could hear something like noise around, they turned to the ground. They watched the brothers tackle themselves for a position they didn't know who his be given to someone else.
Jade cleared his throat, both of them turned to him. "I guess we'll have this meeting at the office. I'll be introducing you to your new boss soon."
They stared at him in-disbelief. A new boss? Who would take on to the position at the office?
"I guess you are guessing who? It's your mom. This Jade company has always been her idea. The money you see came from her savings and a bit from mine."
"You mean your theft." She chipped in.
He turned to her, hopeless. "Yes that and so we'll have this at the office. In fact, the both of you need to be at the office for the meetings upcoming."
Zhao stood. He felt like he lost his mantle to his own mother, he's been a worker at the Jade industries for years and even if his mother had a tiny part in it. He preferred more about the company than her.
He walked out of the office. Now he had more than one competitor, he had his own mother and then his brother. What about the others he didn't know of? He tried to digest this in but it made him sick.
He walked out of the building with sorrowful violin sounds coursing through his head. He walked off till he got to the building's last floor. He leaned on his car for a while, he needed the air on his face. He stared at the clouds and noticed the rain gathering up.
He turned only to see his brother there. He noticed they weren't identical, Li walked towards his car. "Zhao? What do you think of this? Mom and us?"
"What do you want? He already chose her. He chose her for my role, a role I built myself for. A role I built the company for, do you know the amount of sacrifice and woke I've put into this company?"
Li could tell, he wasn't happy with what Jade announced and the funny aspect? He couldn't tell what Zhao would take or not take. He expected the worse from him.
"Li? You have no idea. I'm trying to be same here and did you see that? Her telling me I didn't see her when all I had from her was the picture dad gave me?"
Li could feel his pain, he didn't know how. He watched Zhao explain on and on about his failed dream. He walked slowly towards the car, "Zhao?" He interrupted.
"Yeah?"
"We could start up ours? And honestly I don't think we are brothers? Twins for that matter and I don't think mom should be on that seat."
"Why? What was she like growing up?"
"Toxic. Mean. Bully. Terrible. She was more of a drunkard than dad was and I honestly think dad should reconsider. She's not fit for that position." Li said sadly.
"I think he's setting a trap for her to leave his life. He mentioned something to me once. He felt like she laid a curse on him because he left her. I guess he left because she was toxic?"
"Of course Zhao. She was violent and always pained, bitter and angry over nothing and everything at the same time. She had a good font outside but inside felt like hell. She enjoyed labor and called it hard work." Li complained.
Zhao shook his head in disbelief. "I'll need her out of the way. Immediately."
"Of course. But we don't want her getting hurt right?" Li asked.
"No but I think Jade's going to handle that. Let's head back to the office."
"Right." They drove off to the office. Getting there Li noticed Su and Lin staring at the screen. He tried to search for his favorite male around but he didn't see him there. He asked, "What's new?"
Lin replied, "Nothing. Just researching and development."
Another assistant from Zhao walked in with a paper in her hands, "Sir, Mr Zhao asked me to deliver this to you."
"Thank you." She walked off saying, "You are welcome sir."
He glanced through the paper. It was blank. He dialed his number, "Zhao explain."
"You've been invited to the directors board and now you'll have to hand over leadership to someone else as soon as possible. Also we'll need to start that company quick and all legal documents must be in our names. If she gets here, I know the worse will happen." Zhao replied.
"So the blank paper stands for?" Li asked.
"For ideas and conclusion. I think we need something small."
"Small for two people?"
"Yeah maybe technology or agriculture." Zhao said.
"You mean for two people? I'll need time to think." Li answered.
"Fine. Just get here on time. I'll need your company. And no one should know we are brothers. Trust me, dad's got more than just you and me in this family and company?"
"What? Please tell me Lin isn't my sister?" He whispered over the phone.
"Nope. That's too far. I don't like her that much. You shouldn't consider her for the executive position." Zhao warned.
Li laughed a bit. "She's so possessive. Anyway I'll be on my way."
Zhao hung up. So rude.
Li's phone rang, "What are you doing? Where are you?"
"Mom I had some issues at work. I need some time."
"Okay then. I'll be on a date with Jade. An ice tea date. I'll text you soon."
She hung up.
Li knew this wasn't going to work out. He knew this would lead to something way more worse than he thought. He just hoped for one thing.
She shouldn't get pregnant at all. Especially for Jade.
