The celebration had long come to an end.
One by one, the invited guests began saying their goodbyes.
Yet no one left without talking about what had happened.
The reunion of the Larento family had become the only conversation in the hall.
Some guests wiped away tears as they embraced Henri and Madeleine.
Others congratulated them, saying that after so many years, fate had finally answered their prayers.
Henri never let go of Stephanie's hand.
Not even for a moment.
Madeleine stayed close to her granddaughter's side as though she feared that if she looked away, Stephanie would disappear again.
Adrian noticed and smiled to himself.
"They're not planning on letting you out of their sight tonight," he teased gently.
Stephanie laughed through her tears.
"I noticed."
Madeleine smiled warmly.
"Can you blame us?"
Henri chuckled.
"We've spent years wondering where you were."
He looked lovingly at Stephanie.
"Now that we've found you..."
"I'm afraid you'll have to put up with two very overprotective grandparents."
Everyone laughed.
Stephanie felt something she had never experienced before.
She belonged.
For the first time in her life...
She truly belonged.
Nearby, Adrian's grandparents watched the moment unfold with misty eyes.
Adrian's grandfather smiled knowingly.
"I've never seen Henri smile this much."
"Neither have I," his wife replied.
"It suits him."
Henri walked over and embraced his old friends.
"I don't know how I'll ever thank you."
Adrian's grandfather smiled.
"You don't have to."
"I think destiny had already written today long before any of us arrived."
Henri nodded thoughtfully.
"It certainly did."
A few moments later, Madeleine turned toward Maya.
The moment their eyes met, recognition crossed her face.
"Oh!"
She smiled brightly.
"You're the young lady from the restaurant."
Maya blinked before laughing.
"You remember me?"
"Of course," Madeleine replied warmly.
"You were looking after our granddaughter long before we even knew she had been found."
Henri stepped forward with a grateful smile.
"Thank you."
Maya looked embarrassed.
"I didn't really do anything."
"You did more than you realize," Henri said sincerely.
"You stood beside Stephanie when she believed she had no one."
Madeleine gently took Maya's hands into hers.
"For that..."
"We'll always be grateful."
Maya's eyes immediately filled with tears.
"I only did what any best friend would do."
Madeleine smiled.
"Then perhaps..."
She glanced at Henri before looking back at Maya.
"Our family has been blessed with two granddaughters instead of one."
Maya's eyes widened.
"Me?"
Henri laughed softly.
"If Stephanie considers you family..."
"Then so do we."
Without warning, Madeleine wrapped Maya in a warm hug.
Maya stood frozen for a second before hugging her back.
She hadn't expected to gain a family that evening too.
Not by blood...
But by love.
Adrian watched the scene with a smile.
His heart felt unbelievably full.
Ever since he was a little boy, he had adored Henri and Madeleine.
He often joked that he preferred spending weekends at the Larentos' home because Henri always had fascinating stories to tell, while Madeleine spoiled him with homemade desserts and endless affection.
His own grandparents never minded.
In fact, the four of them had become one big family over the years.
Looking at Stephanie now...
Adrian couldn't help smiling.
Fate truly had a remarkable way of bringing people together.
Henri walked over and placed a gentle hand on Adrian's shoulder.
"We owe you more than you'll ever know."
Adrian shook his head.
"I didn't do anything."
"You did," Madeleine said softly.
"You brought our granddaughter back to us."
She smiled through her tears.
"And knowing that she's found someone who loves and respects her..."
Her eyes rested on Adrian with quiet approval.
"...brings us even greater peace."
Adrian glanced at Stephanie, who smiled shyly back at him.
Henri noticed the exchange and chuckled.
"I think Louis would have liked you."
Those words caught Adrian completely off guard.
He lowered his head respectfully.
"Thank you, sir."
As the last of the guests departed, Henri turned to Stephanie.
"My dear..."
He smiled gently.
"It's time to come home."
A few days later, Stephanie and Maya boarded a flight to France with Henri and Madeleine.
The journey felt almost unreal.
Only days earlier, Stephanie believed the only family she had in the world was her distant mother.
Now she was crossing the ocean with the grandparents she had only just found.
As the car left the airport and entered a quiet French town, Stephanie gazed silently through the window.
The streets were peaceful.
Tall trees lined the roads, and elegant homes stood behind beautifully crafted iron gates.
Then the car slowed.
Massive wrought-iron gates began to open.
Beyond them stood an elegant estate surrounded by manicured gardens and centuries-old trees.
Maya's jaw dropped.
"Stephanie..."
She whispered in amazement.
"Please tell me this isn't where we're living."
Henri smiled.
"It is."
Madeleine laughed softly.
"Welcome home, my dear."
