Chapter 13 - Moonlight Bond

Emilia

I should be used to it, but I was always caught off guard.

"Don't hold your breath, Emilia. Whatever you have to say, you can say." Alpha Anker presses.

Hold your tongue, don't say anything, it's a trick. I thought to myself, as I shook my head, keeping my eyes low.

"You seem to be tired, right?" He asked, not seeming to press on for more information.

I nodded. It has been my easiest way of answering questions.

"This way."

He led the way as he walked in front of me again, leading me through the maze of hallways and up a flight of stairs before stopping in front of a door just before us.

"Uhm, I did kiss you, but I shouldn't have kissed you. I definitely did take you by surprise. Although I have control, Anton has a tendency to break through now and then." He tells me as he moves into the room.

Who is Anton? I thought to myself.

"You had the best of luck that I stopped him before he could do anything more. He is not as patient as I."

"Albert?" I mutter.

"Yeah, my wolf."

Now, that really makes no sense to me. How could his wolf be someone totally different from him?

"Now, Jesse's wolf has a name too, right?" He said while entering the bedroom.

"No…!" I find myself frowning in confusion as I try to make sense of his words. "I never heard anyone mention it, ever."

Alpha Anker's crimson eyes lock on mine. He thought I was lying, I could feel it by the way he looked at me. I really wanted to look away, but found that I couldn't break the gaze. Almost seemed like he was forcing me to look at him without even touching me.

How could that be possible, or was he just the only Alpha who did that?

My voice drops to barely a whisper. "I swear." I opened my mouth to speak, but didn't know what to say. "I…I'm telling the truth." I stutter as he continues to lock his gaze into my eyes.

"Okay." He mutters, yet it felt like he didn't believe me.

"That could mean that because of your binding, you never get to know your wolf, I guess?"

I shake my head. "They come whenever we're ten, as far as I know."

He breaks his gaze and looks away with a frown on his face, and doesn't say anything. My body finally relaxes, only to be met with searing pain, radiating from my stomach.

I pretended as though nothing was going wrong with me. I remain still, watching Alpha Anker walking around the bedroom. I looked as if he was communicating with someone. Maybe, he was actually speaking with Anton?

But wait, could this Anton be living inside of him? What happens when he shifts? He actually did mention control, did Anton have full control when he shifted? As far as I know, anyone that shifted just shifted. They never become someone else.

As Alpha Anker continued to move around the bedroom in a figure of eight, I quickly pressed my hands against my stomach, and even through the fabric of my wear. My skin feels like it is on fire.

I feel my own heart beating fast and running rampant in my chest. It was exactly what I felt when I left the Moonshine pack for the first time. My hands feel clammy and my mouth becomes dry. I immediately reached out to hold on the bed post so I could stabilize, and stop my legs buckling underneath me.

"It hurts" I mutter as the pain radiates through me.

"Emilia." He turns around to look at me and I let my legs give way.

He immediately caught me and did not let me reach the floor. Concern etched all over his face as he pulled up my top.

"Holy shit!"

I have never felt such pain before. All the beatings, all the punishment, it was nothing to be compared to.

Alpha Anker lifted me from the floor, holding an arm under my knees and under my back as he carried me through the house and into the cool evening air.

His feet pound the ground as he moves quickly. He slams his back against the door to the pack hospital. The slams felt as though the door would pull from its hinges as he forced us in through.

"We never thought of this at first." He lowered me on a bed and shouted for Theresa. "You need to look at this!"

He tugs up my top, ignoring me squirming in pain. He tries to hold me down so Theresa could get a better look.

"Look at me Emilia, just look at me and breathe." He said as he cups my face with one large hand.

Everything burns. My entire body felt as if it was tearing itself apart.

"Is this what I think it is?" Theresa asked.

"Yes." Alpha Anker mutters as he holds my shoulders down.

"I'm sorry, Emilia, this is really going to hurt." Theresa calls out.

"May I help?" another man questions as another wave of pain shoots through me.

"Yes, you can help. Hold her legs." Alpha Anker instructs.

I feel something hot and sharp press into my stomach. I let out a scream as I thrash against the men holding me down. Were they going to kill me? Fear gripped my heart.

The moments before I pass out from my pain, I hear Alpha Anker say "a fucking blood tie."

"Did anyone have a clue?" Alpha Anker demanded. I fell asleep after I was relieved. I was already out cold and likely would be for some time. Theresa had gone as far as stitching my wounds up, when she was certain the tie had been severe and my body had been pumped full of blood.

"Someone's blood is going to flow, someone's head is going to roll." Anton growls.

"No." Jason replied. "Surely, if Emilia had a mate, she wouldn't have left Moonshine so easily."

"But she didn't think so, did she?" She practically collapsed at the door.
