Ch - 4
The morning sunlight filtered softly through the glass windows of the cabin as Rafael Xavier Murillo sat at his desk, reviewing files with his usual calm focus. The sunflower resin coaster rested quietly beside his laptop, untouched yet always present, like a silent witness to his days.
After a few moments of thought, he picked up his phone and dialed.
"Susie, come to my cabin," he said briefly.
Within seconds, his media manager knocked and entered with her tablet in hand.
"Yes, sir?"
Raffy leaned back slightly in his chair. "About the artist collaboration you mentioned… you can start working on it. Reach out and see the possibilities."
Susie's face brightened instantly. "That's great, sir. I'll begin the process right away."
She paused for a moment, as if remembering something important.
"Oh, sir… there's one more thing."
Raffy looked up. "Hmm?"
"After three days, there's a grand art event happening," she explained. "Big artists, well-known businessmen, major brands — everyone influential in the art and creative industry will be there."
Raffy remained silent, listening carefully.
"You'll be attending that event," she added confidently.
He frowned slightly. "But—"
Before he could complete his sentence, Susie cut him off gently but firmly.
"Sir, I've already checked your schedule," she said with a small professional smile. "It's completely clear that evening. I've also informed your driver to be ready. So please… don't make excuses this time."
For a second, Raffy looked at her, almost amused by her boldness.
Susie gave a polite nod, still smiling. "Everything is arranged. You just have to show up."
Without waiting for further argument, she turned and walked out of the cabin, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
Raffy let out a small sigh, shaking his head slightly.
"Persistent as always," he murmured.
He glanced once at the sunflower coaster on his desk, then back at his work.
He didn't know why, but the idea of attending that event felt unusually significant… as if something unknown was quietly waiting for him there.
Yet to him, it was just another formal gathering.
Another business appearance.
Another ordinary evening.
He had no idea that sometimes, the most ordinary invitations lead to the most unexpected meetings.
