Chapter 08
Seoul, South Korea
~Kim Taeyung~
The school orientation fair was looking good this year, the clubs showed up with decorated and themed tents. Some selling things, offering photos, food, drinks, even music and dance performances.
"Taeyung!" I turned around and it was Park Suho sporting a new hair color.
"Blonde?" I raised one of my eyebrows at him.
"Yeah man I needed a change. Yo, have you seen the new batch of ladies this year, they're pretty fine. I heard we might have a new campus goddess." Suho said in Korean.
My thoughts drifted to the girl I met yesterday again.
Why did I picture her after Suho mentioned a new campus goddess?
"Heard she's a real beauty, foreign too."
And just like magic she appeared in front me, I saw her when someone moved away from the booth. She was wearing an all-white sun dress and her hair braided down the side, it shined shamelessly, with a hint of red violet reflecting off from the sun's rays.
Her profile showed she was smiling. Not just with her mouth but with her eyes.
Fuck she stole my breath away.
"Wow, you see the girl next to the orange haired girl? Damn she looks like a literal goddess. That's got to be her, the new girl everyone has been talking about?" He asked elbowing me.
"No, she looks plain." I lied brushing him off.
He scoffed at me. "I'm going to check her out."
"Whatever." I followed behind him, I just wanted her name, using Suho was an easy solution.
I stood a few feet back leaning away from them against the table of a club's booth. Listening.
"You look extravagant, milady, what's your name?" He asked her in English
Here it comes.
"Phoebe. Why do you ask?"
So that's her name.
Phoebe. Beautiful name.
She spoke so low I could barely here her. But now I had my answer, her name, and it suited her.
"Wow, your Korean is really good" he asked her.
"Ye." She answered.
"And you miss orange; do you speak Korean?" he asked.
"Aniyo, she doesn't. Her name's Cherry."
Thanks, Park Suho for doing the hard work for me…
"I'm Park Suho. I'm majoring in finance I'm a third year." I'm surprised he's being so basic.
"Don't you speak English?" She asked.
"Yes. Would you prefer English?" He sounded smoother this time.
"Yes, it's rude to exclude someone from a conversation and my friend is just standing here." She was not afraid to speak up.
"I'm sorry, I am just used to speaking Korean." He was definitely getting ready to start flirting.
"It's fine, I'm in Korea, and I'm learning Korean, but not fast enough I guess." Cherry batted her eyelashes at him. Suho noticed, he looked like he was trying to decide on which girl to focus on.
His eyes then locked on to Phoebe, and I felt this odd sense of anger building in my chest. The idea of him flirting and targeting Phoebe now, made me want to punch him in the face.
Something in that moment clicked.
She was mine. I had to have her. I couldn't let him flirt with my woman.
I found my legs dragging me toward them, I place my hand on Suho's shoulder, "What did I miss?" I got a good look up close of her whole face and my jaw nearly hit the floor. She was radiating beauty and elegance in that dress. She looked completely different from the other day when we first met.
Fuck.
She slid a strand of her hair behind her ear, exposing her slender neck, and I gulped. Her lightly sun kissed skin, and those deep forest green eyes that could pierce a soul.
The smile that once plastered her face dimmed and her expression darkened, and I didn't like that.
"Why do you look like you just saw a murder?" I asked her in English.
She made a snarky remark. "Because I'm contemplating on how to commit it and get away with it."
I chuckled, her bite sometimes felt just right.
Her fire was so tempting to touch. Maybe even worth the burn.
"I can help you hide the body, who are we murdering?" I winked at her.
I could feel Suho's gaze on me.
She snorted trying to stifle a laugh and that only made me cough trying not to breakout hysterically when her cheeks reddened.
"Why are you being friendly?" She shifted her weight to one side and crossed her arms with a frown "You weren't this friendly the last time we met."
"Taeyung, you didn't tell me you met the new campus goddess, keeping her all to yourself?" Suho shoved me lightly, teasing me.
I smirked "I might be."
Her jaw dropped a little and she quickly fixed her expression, "You play too much, boy."
She turned on heels sharply and walked off, "Theres a smoothy place over there that has a coconut for a cup, and I really want to be trendy."
Distractions will only work for so long.
I looked to Suho as she walked away, and said in Korean, "I think I found a new game to play and a new opponent to play with."
"This should be interesting, watch yourself, hyung, there's something different about her. She's like fire and ice combined. Go to deep, you might get burned."
"This is me we're talking about, I'm water, I don't get burned." I fired back.
"If you say so, let's catch up, the orange one is cute." He nudged me and walked after them.
I followed him, walking with my hands in my pockets.
When we got in line, I got right up behind her. We were mere inches apart. I was so close I could smell the conditioner in her hair.
Flowery.
"Why are you standing so close? Can't you give me some space?" She asked, I could hear her breathing was uneven.
"No, I can't." A smirk appeared again on my face.
She took a step forward, so I did too.
"You're a little too close." She whispered.
"I'd like to get closer." I whispered leaning into her ear.
I could see the goose bumps rise up her arms.
Oh, this was going to be a fun year.
