I was sitting in my car for a long time. Maybe one hour. Maybe two. I don't know. My phone has no signal. 0%.
I am very scared because of the whisper I hear before. I want to leave this forest.
Finally, I say "Okay, Omar. You must drive."
I start the car engine. It is very loud in the silent forest. I drive slowly. I am waiting for the big tree to come again.
But I dont see the tree.
Suddenly, the forest is finished. I see a road and some houses. I am so happy!
"Yes! People!" I shout. I smile and drive faster.
I arrive at a small town. It looks a bit old, but it has houses and a diner. I see some people walking on the street.
I stop my car near a big man with a cowboy hat. He looks serious.
"Excuse me, sir," I say from the window. "I am lost. Can you tell me how to go to the highway?"
The man looks at me. He doesn't smile. He looks sad.
"You are new here?" he asks.
"Yes, I just arrive," I say.
The man sighs. He looks at the sun. The sun is going down.
"It's almost night," the man says. His voice is deep. "Listen to me, boy. You cannot leave."
"What? Why?" I ask. I feel scared again.
"There is no way out," he says. "Now, you need to hide. Go with that lady over there. Her name is Fatima. She will help you for tonight."
He points to a kind lady near the diner.
"Hide? Hide from what?" I ask.
"From them," the man says. He points to the dark forest. "And don't open the windows. Never."
I don't understand. I think this town is crazy. But then, I hear a bell. A loud bell. Dong... Dong...
Everyone starts running to the houses. They look terrified.
I think maybe I should listen to the man in the cowboy hat.
