Ben went to help, for no reason but she looked familiar as if he has seen her somewhere .
"Hey, need some help?" he asked.
Before she could say anything.
"She's gonna need a lot more than you!" a thug said and walked toward Ben to push him away.
Ben didn't care.
With all that training since childhood, if he couldn't even handle a street thug with his physical body, he might as well smash his head against a wall.
He sidestepped and punched the guy in the stomach, incapacitating him.
"Agh!" The guy dropped to his knees, clutching his stomach in pain.
The other guys looked at each other.
The girl finally turned around and looked at him seriously...
Ben looked back at her.
She stood with a lazy, confident slouch, like the world around her didn't matter much.
Her jet-black hair fell unevenly to her shoulders, slightly messy, with loose strands framing her face.
Her dark eyes, half-lidded and sharp, carried a constant look of boredom mixed with quiet calculation.
A faint smirk tugged at her lips, like she was always one step ahead of everyone else.
She wore a black, fitted crop top with rough, torn edges, exposing her midriff, paired with worn, ripped jeans that looked like they had seen more fights than rest.
Fingerless sleeves clung to her arms, and a simple choker sat around her neck, adding to her rough, street-born look.
Her stance was relaxed—one hand resting near her pocket, her weight shifted slightly to one side—but there was nothing careless about it.
Every movement felt deliberate, like she was always ready to react.
There was an edge to it.
Her presence was quiet and sharp.
"Who are you, you punk? You need a beating too? How about you apologize to my friend here?" A tall, heavy-set guy stepped forward with a menacing face.
He tried to intimidate Ben using his height.
Ben didn't answer.
"Enough nonsense. Let her go. If not… let's just have a fight."
He took a fighting stance.
"Looks like you really want a beating..." he said, then threw a punch.
Ben dodged it and took a step back.
The other guy threw another punch—this time, Ben blocked it with one hand and punched him in the face with the other.
The guy flew backward and was caught by his friends.
The others tried to fight...
Ben was about to engage when the girl spoke.
"Heh, how's the hangout? Still trash like I left it for you?"
"Yeah, and you're gonna pay! Even if you and that kid fight together, you can't take all of us, you freak," the guy beside her said angrily.
He charged at Ben...
He didn't even last a minute—taken out in mere seconds and falling unconscious.
The others rushed in together this time, but Ben still beat them up and threw them into a corner.
The girl took out the last guy...
She turned to him. "Why did you help me?"
"Well, I felt like I've seen you somewhere before. Even if that wasn't the case, I would still help nonetheless," Ben shrugged.
"Oh? Are you some kind of hero in shining armor?"
"Oh come on, where do you see my armor? But you're right—I am kind of a hero, if I have to say."
Keva rolled her eyes. This guy must be messed up in his head... Anyway, he's pretty strong...
"Whatever," she said.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Ben Tennyson. I'm just on a road trip with my cousin and Grandpa. What about you?"
"Heh, why should I tell you?" she asked.
"Well, I helped you out there, didn't I? So how about repaying me?" Ben raised an eyebrow at her.
"Well, I didn't ask for your help, did I? But fine... my name is Keva," she answered.
That's all she wanted to say.
Hm?
'Ciel, what's happening? Is this Kevin, but a female version?'
