Ignis's golden eyes narrowed into slits of pure, burning rage. "You dare ignore me, human?"
She lunged forward, moving with the terrifying, explosive speed of a high-tier demon. Her flaming broadsword swung in a deadly, horizontal arc, aiming directly to decapitate him. She was fully intending to assassinate Victor on day one.
Victor didn't fight back with a fireball. He didn't dive out of the way.
Instead, he raised his left hand and summoned the "Tycoon's Ledger," a magical artifact that allows him to buy debt, force magical contracts, and appraise the exact monetary value of souls and spells.
The flaming blade slammed into an invisible, golden barrier projecting directly from the ledger. A shockwave of heat washed over Victor, but his midnight-blue suit didn't even singe.
"Itemized deduction," Victor said coldly, his voice devoid of any fear, proving he only cares about the bottom line. "Destruction of academy architecture: 150,000 Gold. Assaulting a corporate officer: 100,000 Gold. Plus your unpaid, compounding tuition of 250,000 Gold."
Victor tapped the glowing page with his fountain pen. "You owe me a 500,000 Gold debt."
"I owe you nothing!" Ignis screamed, trying to wrench her sword back, but the blade was magnetically locked to the golden barrier.
Victor trapped her in a magical debt contract for property damage. Heavy, glowing chains of financial law erupted from the ledger, wrapping tightly around the demon princess's wrists and forcing her violently to her knees on the cracked obsidian floor.
"You are insolvent, Princess," Victor said, casually adjusting his cuffs as the demon struggled against the weight of her own debt. "And until this account is cleared in full, you are forced to work as my personal bodyguard."
