Chapter 19 - Garp Has Run Into Big Trouble!

Even for a legendary figure like Garp, who had weathered countless storms, the sight of so many Devil Fruits appearing at once still shocked him.

He simply couldn't imagine the chaos that would erupt if all these fruits were released into circulation.

Not just Shells Town—the entire East Blue could be thrown into turmoil.

And the most outrageous part?

The prices.

They were so cheap it almost felt like a bad joke.

He picked one up and read the label.

Suggested Retail Price: 30,000,000 Berries

Then another.

Suggested Retail Price: 10,000,000 Berries

Another.

Suggested Retail Price: 1,000,000 Berries

And then—

Suggested Retail Price: 100,000 Berries

"Pfft—!"

When Garp saw the last one, he nearly choked on his breath.

A Devil Fruit for 100,000 Berries?!

This was ridiculous.

Absolutely absurd.

No way.

These fruits absolutely could not be allowed to circulate freely.

If righteous people obtained them, perhaps the East Blue would remain stable.

But if pirates got their hands on them?

Then overnight, the seas could gain twenty or thirty new Devil Fruit users.

That would be a complete disaster.

Garp immediately put on a friendly smile and turned toward Xia Yu.

"You're a traveler who somehow managed to obtain so many Devil Fruits."

"You should know who I am."

He walked over and sat down opposite Xia Yu.

"I'm very curious."

"How exactly did you obtain so many Devil Fruits?"

"I'm a traveler."

Xia Yu blinked calmly.

"I travel the seas, visit many islands, and occasionally enter the Grand Line."

"I've encountered many interesting things… and I suppose I've been quite lucky."

Then he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"So, Vice Admiral Garp…"

"Are you here to buy… or something else?"

Garp stared at him for a moment.

"Knowing my reputation and still remaining this calm…"

"Looks like you've seen the world."

At first, Garp assumed Xia Yu was some middle-aged or older merchant.

But now that he saw how young he was, he began to question things slightly.

Still—

Xia Yu's identity didn't matter much to him.

As long as Xia Yu wasn't stirring up trouble in the East Blue, that was good enough.

So Garp waved his hand decisively.

"I'll take all of them!"

"Straightforward."

Xia Yu stood up instantly.

He pulled all the fruits onto the counter and counted carefully.

"Let's see…"

"Twenty-seven Devil Fruits."

"I'll give you a bundle deal."

"Two hundred million Berries."

"WHAT?!"

Garp's eyes bulged.

"According to your suggested prices, these fruits aren't even worth 100 million!"

"You're trying to scam me!"

"Take it… or leave it."

Xia Yu smiled slightly.

"Vice Admiral Garp chased Roger all over the New World."

"Surely you know their real value."

Garp's face flushed red.

Because Xia Yu was right.

If these fruits were sold on the black markets of the Grand Line, even if they didn't sell for 100 million each—

A bulk deal could easily reach 2 billion Berries.

Maybe even 4–5 billion if a bidding war broke out.

And once the news spread, pirates from the Grand Line would swarm to the East Blue.

So Xia Yu asking for 200 million was, honestly, extremely reasonable.

"Fine! Fine! I'll take them all!"

Garp stood up and reached for the fruits.

"Vice Admiral Garp."

Xia Yu's eyes sharpened slightly.

"One hand money. One hand goods."

"Don't you trust me?"

Garp paused awkwardly.

"I am a Marine Vice Admiral—"

"Correct."

Xia Yu interrupted calmly.

"I don't trust you."

"More precisely…"

"I believe you don't have 200 million Berries on you."

"!!!"

Garp's eyes widened dramatically.

"So you figured that out?!"

He scratched his head awkwardly.

Then he suddenly pulled out a Den Den Mushi.

"Hello? Sengoku?"

"Are you there?!"

"This is Garp! Answer me!"

The Den Den Mushi replied with an annoyed voice.

"I know it's you, Garp."

"Weren't you on vacation in East Blue?"

"Why are you calling me?"

"I've run into big trouble!"

Garp roared.

"I need 200 million Berries sent to Shells Town immediately!"

"Otherwise, the East Blue will descend into chaos!"

"Wait—what?"

Sengoku's voice turned serious.

"What happened?"

"There's a Devil Fruit merchant here!"

"He has over twenty Devil Fruits!"

"I'm buying them all for 200 million."

"If we don't buy them, they'll enter the black market and cause massive problems!"

"WHAT?!"

Sengoku nearly shouted through the Den Den Mushi.

"Twenty Devil Fruits?!"

"Garp, are you joking? Don't get scammed!"

"They're right here in front of me!"

"They're real!"

"Are you certain?"

"Absolutely."

"…Fine."

"I'll contact the 153rd Marine Base and have the money delivered immediately."

After ending the call, Garp turned back to Xia Yu.

"Well?"

"Now you believe me?"

Xia Yu simply smiled faintly.

"I only believe in Berries."

"You…"

Garp clenched his fists in frustration.

But he couldn't just start trouble.

After all, Xia Yu hadn't done anything illegal.

So he let out a long sigh and sat back down silently.

Being distrusted like this…

really didn't feel great.

Meanwhile—

Xia Yu leaned back calmly in his chair.

Completely relaxed.

Because he knew something Garp hadn't realized yet.

The moment the Marines paid for these Devil Fruits…

his system mission would be nearly complete.
