Chapter 182 - Today, I'll Be Your Opponent!

For a full ten days, Arashi taught Law and the others absolutely nothing.

Instead, he focused entirely on physical conditioning.

Weighted long-distance runs, frog jumps, push-ups, pull-ups—he made them experience every kind of training imaginable.

Ten days later, Arashi began teaching them Armament Haki.

After ten days of high-intensity training, Law, Hawkins, Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi all successively grasped the basics of Armament Haki.

Not wanting to waste any time, Arashi immediately moved on to Observation Haki.

In the blink of an eye, another month quietly passed.

During that month, the happiest person was undoubtedly Perona.

Her daily duties consisted of supervising Law and the others' training and teasing Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi whenever she felt like it.

Occasionally, she would even spar with them.

And every time she did, Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi would begin questioning their entire existence.

Even Law and Hawkins were extremely wary of the little sadistic girl.

Her Devil Fruit ability was simply too unfair.

Most terrifying of all, whether it was Armament Haki or Observation Haki, Perona was far ahead of them.

As for stamina?

That wasn't even relevant.

Perona's powers didn't require physical exertion at all.

A few ghosts drifting out of her body were enough to wipe them all out.

Under the double torment of Perona and Arashi, Law and the others finally succeeded in grasping the basics of both Armament Haki and Observation Haki after one month.

Because Arashi had given them only one hundred days, they didn't have the luxury of continuing to deepen their mastery of the two Haki types.

He immediately dragged them into the next stage of training.

Soon, sixty more days passed in a flash.

During that time, Law and the others finally developed physiques that could barely be considered respectable.

The most shocking part was when Arashi began teaching swordsmanship.

The terrifying flying slashes he demonstrated left Law and Hawkins drenched in cold sweat.

Among them, Hawkins was undoubtedly the most shocked.

Although his tarot cards had long ago told him that Arashi possessed the power to kill him, he had never personally witnessed Arashi's true strength before becoming his disciple.

Initially, he had simply followed the results of his divination.

As Arashi taught them Armament Haki and Observation Haki, Hawkins gradually began to understand just how powerful his master was.

However, compared to Haki, it was Arashi's swordsmanship that truly shook him.

When he watched Arashi split the sea with a single slash and cut the top off the towering cliff at the northern end of Swallow Island with one stroke, he was completely stunned.

Every time he thought about how he might have become Arashi's enemy had he not performed that tarot reading, his scalp tingled with fear.

Even with the powers of the Straw-Straw Fruit, he wouldn't have been enough for Arashi to cut down.

Ninety days later.

Both Law and Hawkins had mastered the fundamentals of swordsmanship.

Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi, however, possessed little talent in that area and had only learned the bare basics.

Still, they weren't discouraged.

For them, being able to grasp Armament Haki and Observation Haki was already an incredible blessing.

The hundredth day arrived exactly as scheduled.

Before dawn had even broken, Law, Hawkins, Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi had already gathered at the training grounds, waiting for Arashi's arrival.

Arashi didn't keep them waiting.

He appeared before them right on time.

Looking at the five standing neatly in a row, he didn't immediately order them to begin training as usual.

Instead, he silently walked over to a nearby slope and lay down.

Originally, he had only come because of the system mission to take Law as his disciple.

He had never expected Hawkins, Bepo, and the others to join as well.

To be honest, he hadn't cared much in the beginning.

Whether he taught them or not didn't seem particularly important.

But after spending a hundred days together, he had unknowingly begun to view them as his genuine disciples.

That was precisely what Arashi had always wanted to avoid.

As a transmigrator with the Traveler System, he had never wanted to form overly deep bonds with too many people in this world.

Yet humans weren't made of stone.

Who could remain completely emotionless?

A hundred days was enough time for two complete strangers to become close friends over drinks.

How much more so between master and disciple?

As a result, Arashi genuinely acknowledged these students.

Because he could clearly feel the sincerity in their hearts.

Seeing Arashi lying silently on the slope, none of them spoke.

Deep down, they all understood.

This was the final day of Arashi's teaching.

For Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi, the three simple-minded kids had accepted Arashi as their master from the very day they became his disciples.

Law had sincerely wanted to become Arashi's student as well, but at the beginning there had still been traces of uncertainty in his heart.

However, after Arashi taught them physical training, Haki, swordsmanship, and even helped him continuously develop his Devil Fruit abilities without holding anything back, all of Law's doubts disappeared.

What remained was gratitude and admiration.

The same was true for Hawkins.

At first, he had only followed the results of his tarot reading.

He had even harbored a few selfish motives.

But after witnessing Arashi's strength and experiencing his patient guidance over these months, those selfish thoughts had vanished long ago.

What replaced them was admiration and reverence.

And this had nothing to do with divination.

It came entirely from his own heart.

Lying on the slope, Arashi noticed that none of them had moved.

Suddenly, he smiled.

"Time really does fly."

He sat up slowly.

"But I'm very pleased."

"I honestly didn't expect that within a hundred days, all of you would not only grasp the basics of Armament Haki and Observation Haki, but also achieve decent progress in both physical combat and swordsmanship."

He nodded approvingly.

"Very good."

"Truly very good."

"Master..."

Bepo could no longer hold back.

With tears already filling his eyes, he looked up at Arashi.

"A-Are you leaving us?"

"Bepo... Bepo doesn't want Master to leave..."

"I don't want to leave everyone either."

Arashi stood up and swept his gaze across the group.

"But there are no feasts that last forever."

"Now all of you have learned how to continue training your bodies, grasped the basics of swordsmanship, and entered the door of both Haki disciplines..."

His gaze suddenly landed on Bepo.

"Hm?"

"What are you doing?"

"No crying."

"A real man sheds blood, not tears. Understand?"

"Yes, Master!"

Bepo immediately stood straight and answered loudly.

Yet tears continued streaming down his face.

Beside him, Penguin and Shachi's eyes had also become red.

None of them had ever imagined that Arashi would take them in as disciples alongside Law.

Nor had they expected to grow so much stronger in only a hundred days under his guidance.

As former delinquents, they understood better than anyone that this was a world where strength ruled everything.

Before becoming Arashi's disciples, they had no idea when they might be killed by someone stronger.

They had simply been too weak.

Therefore, Arashi hadn't merely taught them abilities.

He had given them more possibilities in life.

Now that he was leaving, of course they couldn't bear it.

After looking around at everyone, Arashi suddenly stepped forward and appeared before Trafalgar Law.

Then—

His fist shot out like lightning.

Law never expected Arashi to attack without warning.

His pupils contracted instantly.

The next second—

Boom!

Accompanied by a thunderous impact, Law was blasted backward and crashed heavily onto the ground over ten meters away.

After sending Law flying with a single punch, an overwhelming battle aura erupted from Arashi's body.

The pressure was so immense that everyone present nearly found it difficult to breathe.

"Come!"

Arashi stood there, battle intent surging from every inch of his body.

Without even glancing at the Law he had sent flying, he spoke in a deep voice.

"Today, I'll be your opponent."

"Use everything you've learned."

"Hold nothing back."

"Show me the results of your hundred days of training."

The moment his words fell, Armament Haki instantly hardened his fist.

Then Arashi charged straight at Hawkins!
