She was surprised to see a woman in her twenties And then it struck her
the woman in the mirror… was her.
"It's not my face… where am I?" she whispered, confusion clouding her thoughts. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Just then, the maid entered the room and reminded her that she would be late for college. With that, she quietly left.
Elosia was left standing there, overwhelmed and confused. Taking a deep breath, she began to piece together everything she had observed.
Slowly, a shocking realization dawned on her
She had become Ivy Everly… the very character from the novel Peaches Blooming Pink.
But one question still lingered, sending a chill down her spine
Which part of the story was she in?
She got up and dressed herself. Then she went downstairs, where people were already dining.
Without hesitation, she walked straight to the dining table and sat down.
The maids served her breakfast, yet no one paid her any attention as if she didn't exist. In the same way, she ignored them, her mind too occupied, carefully piecing together her thoughts.
"Ivy, it's your first day at the new college. Make sure you don't get into any kind of trouble," the man in his forties said to her.
She immediately realized that this man was likely her adoptive father.
She simply nodded her head. The driver took her to college, and along the way, she gathered her thoughts, trying to figure out where in the story she was.
"Now it's very likely… I'm in the chapter where Ivy joins the new college. On the very first day, she gets into trouble for bullying a classmate along with her group."
"Then the principal witnesses it and reports her behavior to her family…"
"Which only leads to more complications. Her adoptive brothers start treating her like trash taunting her in every possible way."
"Miss Ivy, we've reached your college. I will pick you up at six this evening."
She stepped out of the car. The vehicle drove away the moment she closed the door.
"Hah… so what am I supposed to do until six when college finishes at four? So… he's just leaving me on my own."
She shook her head in disbelief and walked toward her class.
Several students glanced at Ivy, some staring in admiration at her beauty. But she paid them no attention.
Soon, a group of girls gathered around her. She quickly recognized them the same ones who would later participate in bullying others.
"Hey! Are you a newbie? Oh, I mean… are you the new transfer student?"
They tried to get close to her, but she gave only a brief, half-hearted reply. Finding her uninteresting, they eventually left.
She let out a quiet breath of relief.
"Yes… I've managed to skip one hurdle. I'll escape the troubles ahead too. And when the time comes, I'll leave that house… and those people behind."
"Let's plan for world peace…" she murmured, once again lost in her thoughts.
Soon, the professor entered the class and announced that three students had transferred in.
Everyone grew excited, eager to know more. The professor then called them to the podium to introduce themselves to their new classmates.
As she remained lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the announcement. A fellow classmate tapped her shoulder, pulling her back to reality.
She then walked to the podium with the other two transfer students, lining up to introduce themselves.
"Hmm… hi classmates, I am Lea Michele. It's nice to meet you."
"Oh no… isn't she the girl who was bullied by Ivy? Since I've avoided the others who were involved in bulling, I'll just stay out of her way too," she murmured to herself.
At the back of the class, a few students watched Ivy and whispered among themselves. They were friends of her second adoptive brother.
"Hey, Anos… isn't that your so-called sister? The one who always gets into trouble?" they laughed.
"I don't have any sister. It's just me and my brother in our family."
"Well, we'll see. Soon it'll be her turn. If she just introduces herself as a Roger, what will you do?"
"The moment she calls herself a Roger, she can say goodbye to her peaceful life. I'll make her regret it… embarrass her beyond measure."
"Hey guys, I'm Havey Tord, and I'm a basketball player. Hope we get along."
It was finally Ivy's turn. She recalled the scene where her brother, Anos, had embarrassed her in front of everyone when she introduced herself to n the novel.
"I am Ivy," she said in a low, calm voice. Her tone was cold and distinct.
The professor raised an eyebrow. "Hmm… and that's it? Just Ivy?"
"Ivy Everly," she added.
Whispers spread through the class. People murmured that she seemed cold, distant—and even more, that she hadn't spoken her family name
At the back, Anos's expression darkened. He was seething angered that she had not used their family name.
She had used the name of the orphanage she came from as her family name.
"Oh wow! Looks like things are about to get interesting. What do you think, Anos? Don't you think your sister is quite intriguing?" they laughed.
Anos clenched his jaw, seething with anger. What is she trying to do? Is she deliberately trying to embarrass our family by not using the family name?
His anger only grew.
Soon, Ivy returned to her seat, and the class continued. After class, she quietly scrolled through her phone, not engaging with anyone.
At lunchtime, she went to the cafeteria, bought herself a meal, and sat at an empty table. Just as she was about to eat, her brother approached and sat across from her.
"What are you doing now? Do you think this will get our attention? You should stop dreaming. No one cares about you, no matter what you do."
She thought to herself, Do I look like I care? What is his problem? Is he disappointed because he couldn't embarrass me in front of the whole class? Now he's throwing a tantrum like a child.
Without another word, she continued her lunch, giving him a look that clearly said she didn't care.
Frustrated, he slammed the table and stormed away.
She returned to her class, sat at her desk, rested her head on it, and fell asleep.
She drifted into another dream—again, it was Ivy.
This time, she saw a younger Ivy, tumbling down the stairs. Her head, knees, and elbows were badly injured, pain shooting through her fragile body.
Yet… no one came to help.
With trembling strength, Ivy dragged herself toward her room, step by painful step. She said nothing to her adoptive parents. She endured it all in silence.
At the same time, her brother had fallen too but only slightly. Still, everyone rushed to him, worried and caring, while Ivy who was far more injured was left alone, ignored.
She lay there, hurt and forgotten, while the other child, with only a scratch, received all the attention.
Even though it was just a dream, the pain Ivy felt that day lingered within her. It felt as if she herself had been the one who was hurt.
Soon, she woke up, her face still pressed against the desk. A tear slipped out as the dream lingered in her mind. Quietly, she wiped it away, making sure no one noticed.
Then she lifted her head and began scrolling on her phone, as if nothing had happened.
The day finally came to an end. It was four o'clock, and everyone had already left the college everyone... except Ivy.
She remained there, waiting quietly for the car.
1. DO YOU THINK IVY DESERVE IT?
2. WHY WAS SHE ADOPTED WHEN NOBODY CLEARLY LIKES HER?
3. WHAT WILL IVY DO TO GET AWAY FROM HER ADOPTIVE FAMILY.
