Chapter 38 - Accumulating Strength

"Sawada… Bo—"

Ginjō gritted his teeth. The truth of the past still mattered more to him than anything else. But before he could finish speaking, Tsuna slapped a hand onto his shoulder.

"Good brother! From today on, we're comrades. Just call me Tsuna."

Seeing Tsuna's toothy grin, Ginjō realized he had been played again. Still… having another companion didn't feel so bad.

Especially one far stronger than himself.

"Um… Tsuna-kun," Ginjō asked, "what do you plan to do with our organization?"

From his perspective, the Xcution organization would probably be incorporated under Tsuna's command.

Riruka and the others all turned their eyes toward Tsuna. Their future now depended on a single sentence from him.

They were all people who had lacked warmth and belonging, forced to huddle together for comfort. If Tsuna rejected them, they would simply return to wandering in loneliness.

"I have no right to judge your past," Tsuna said. "But from now on, as long as you don't intentionally commit evil, we're all friends."

After thinking for a moment, he added:

"Xcution was originally your organization, Ginjō. You should continue managing it yourself."

"Hey! Just because we have Fullbring powers doesn't mean we're villains!" Riruka protested immediately.

"That's right," Ginjō said as he stood up. "In the past, we did encounter some Fullbringers who deliberately committed evil."

He slammed the Substitute Shinigami Badge against the Cross of Scaffold, causing the blade's form to shift slightly.

"I possess the power to steal and grant Fullbring abilities. Those criminals' Fullbrings have long since become part of my own strength."

"And not only that," Tsukishima added, "Ginjō only took away the Fullbrings they used to commit evil. He never took their lives."

Tsuna thought back to the Fullbring Arc in the original story.

While Ginjō and the others had used rather shady methods, after stealing Ichigo's Fullbring they had indeed not killed him.

Whether Ginjō and Tsukishima had committed crimes in the past wasn't something Tsuna cared to investigate further.

After all, in the original story they did not end up in Hell after death, which suggested their sins were not severe.

Tsuna decisively changed the subject.

"So, how do you plan to spend the next two years? Continue searching for other Fullbringers?"

Ginjō gave a bitter smile.

"People with Fullbring powers are usually rejected by society. Unless they band together, they have nowhere to belong."

"In that case, there are two people you should pay attention to," Tsuna said.

"One is a blond boy named Yukio. His family runs a large corporation."

"The other is Giriko Kutsuzawa, an older man. I'm not sure whether he's already exploring his Fullbring yet, but you should try contacting him. It might prevent his ability from ruining his life."

Tsuna simply told Ginjō about the future Xcution members, giving him something to do. Maybe he could even gather the group earlier than in the original timeline.

"You know where they are?" Ginjō asked in surprise.

"No idea," Tsuna shrugged. "I gave you their names and key details. Tracking them down is only a matter of time."

After all, Tsuna wasn't omniscient.

"B-but—"

Ginjō started getting anxious again. In some ways, his personality was rather similar to Ichigo's—he wasn't good at hiding his emotions.

"Ginjō, leave it to me," Tsukishima said calmly. "It won't take long for me to find them."

Without Tsukishima, Ginjō's residence might truly fall apart.

"Oh right," Tsuna added, "when you have time, I can introduce you to some friends. Your strength is a bit lacking—you could use some training."

"You're joking!" Jackie said. "A Fullbringer's power is fixed from birth. How could it increase?"

"Is that what Xcution believes?" Tsuna asked.

In Tsuna's understanding, that simply wasn't true.

His own strength—and the strength of Tatsuki and Orihime—had all been steadily improving.

As for Ichigo, he was an exception. The multiple powers inside him limited the growth of his Fullbring.

Normally speaking, Fullbring power originated from fragments of the Soul King. It reflected the user's inner desires and manifested corresponding abilities.

In theory, such power was somewhat similar to a miniature Hōgyoku.

It shouldn't have a growth limit.

"Most Fullbringers hate their abilities," Tsukishima explained. "They don't actively train them."

He didn't say everything, but the meaning was clear.

The limit wasn't the Fullbring itself—it was the user's unwillingness to develop it.

Tsukishima himself had trained relentlessly to reach the point where Book of the End could even insert itself into inanimate objects.

"Well," Tsuna said, "if you hate your abilities, there's no need to force yourselves."

"But Ginjō…"

"I'll train," Ginjō said firmly.

For years he had been trapped by the memories of that massacre.

If there was a chance to avenge his friends, he would give everything.

"Alright then," Tsuna said. "Exchange contact info. I'll introduce you to some people later."

"You can choose from captain-level fighters."

After discussing several details about future cooperation, Tsuna prepared to leave.

But just as he reached the door, he suddenly remembered something.

"Oh right—there's one more name you should pay attention to."

"Aura Michibane."

"She's a woman. Her father was one of your former companions."

"She was isolated from society by her father since childhood. After that incident, she lost her source of food and was forced to interact with society. I heard she fainted from hunger and was taken to a hospital."

"You might be able to find records there."

Tsuna had only just remembered the name of the Fullbringer who later worked for the Tsunayashiro Clan.

He only remembered the general outline of the story—after all, anime scenes tended to leave stronger impressions than written details.

"What?! One of them still has a child alive?!"

Ginjō grabbed Tsuna's shoulders excitedly.

"Father and daughter… could it be Anega Tenkō?"

"I'm not sure," Tsuna said. "But they were both Fullbringers. Because she feared her power, Aura grew up completely isolated from society. She's extremely vulnerable to manipulation."

"If you can help her, that would be best."

"Of course!" Ginjō declared. "I'll take good care of her!"

He immediately turned to Tsukishima.

"Tsukishima. Aura Michibane is now our highest priority."

"Finding her would be best," Tsuna warned. "But if you can't, don't push too far."

"Why not? I'll definitely find her!"

By now Ginjō had already begun treating his deceased friend's daughter as a new emotional anchor.

"Hard to say," Tsuna replied. "She might already be working for the mastermind."

"The mastermind?"

A flash of realization crossed Ginjō's mind.

"Tsunayashiro?!"

He stared intently into Tsuna's eyes, trying to find confirmation.

But Tsuna's expression remained completely calm.

Killing her father and turning the daughter into a tool…

Such cruelty was beyond imagination.

"I'll definitely find her!" Ginjō said fiercely.

"If the hospital has no record, don't waste your effort," Tsuna warned again.

Then he added bluntly:

"If she's already on the enemy's side, you won't be able to handle her."

"Her talent is… extraordinary."

That statement pierced Ginjō's heart again.

The thought of such a gifted young Fullbringer being manipulated by villains made him feel even worse.

"Damn the Tsunayashiro Clan!"

Ginjō looked ready to devour them alive.

"Anyway, start by investigating," Tsuna said. "If you encounter something you can't handle, contact me."

After saying goodbye to the members of Xcution, Tsuna left.

Two Years Later

Time passed quickly.

Two years went by.

Tsuna had entered high school, once again sharing the same class with his usual group—plus Sado Yasutora (Chad).

On the Fullbringer side, Ginjō had already gathered the full Xcution team ahead of schedule.

Because of Tsuna's intervention, the tragedy in Yukio's family was avoided. However, due to his poor relationship with his parents, Yukio still joined Xcution.

Giriko Kutsuzawa's tragedy unfortunately still occurred, and he became Xcution's bartender.

Another recruit—Shishigawara Moe—had originally slipped Tsuna's mind, but thanks to Xcution actively searching for Fullbringers, he was eventually recruited as well.

Because Shishigawara's Fullbring Jackpot Knuckle relied heavily on luck, Urahara Kisuke took him away as an experimental assistant.

That bizarre luck-based ability often produced unexpected results during Urahara's experiments.

During these two years, Kūgo Ginjō's combat strength improved tremendously.

Because he already possessed Hollow power, he trained with the Visored and learned how to use a Hollow Mask.

The Visored themselves also achieved breakthroughs.

All of them could now use their Hollow Masks while in Bankai, and some had even reached higher levels of power.

Their lieutenants, however, had little progress toward achieving Bankai.

After analyzing their abilities, Urahara rejected their request to use the Tenshintai for forced Bankai training, worried it might permanently damage their chances of awakening Bankai.

As for Urahara's shop, things remained the same as always.

Before the real battle began, no one could truly understand the depth of Urahara Kisuke's preparations.

Finally, there was the group around Sawada Tsunayoshi.

Even after mastering Bankai and Resurrección, Tsuna had not relaxed his training. Instead, he continued pursuing even greater power.

Ichigo remained largely the same.

After years of observation, Tsuna confirmed that the problem lay with the conflicting powers inside Ichigo.

At present, Ichigo's "three arrows" of power were already enough to deal with Hollows in the Human World.

Until Ichigo faced true danger, his strength would likely remain stagnant.

Tatsuki and Orihime both continued improving.

Orihime had already mastered abilities up to the Four-Shield stage of the Shun Shun Rikka, and was now working toward unlocking the Five-Shield level.

Tatsuki, meanwhile, had been extremely lucky.

After learning Hakuda from Yoruichi and Kidō techniques from Tessai, she officially became Yoruichi's disciple and began laying the foundation for learning Shunkō.

Meanwhile, through his adventures with Ichigo, Chad awakened his Fullbring—

Brazo Derecha de Gigante (Right Arm of the Giant).

Immediately afterward, Tsuna threw Chad into training with Muguruma Kensei.

Both of them were boxing enthusiasts, so they quickly bonded.

As expected, the two got along perfectly. Whenever they had free time, they sparred endlessly.

As Chad's strength grew, Kensei even began using his Hollow Mask during their fights.

That intense combat triggered an even deeper power within Chad.

His left arm awakened—

a white arm with red markings like a Hollow's body.

Brazo Izquierda del Diablo — the Left Arm of the Devil, possessing overwhelming offensive power.

Finally, there was Ishida Uryū.

Besides upgrading his Quincy Spirit Bow, he also learned to use several Quincy equipment tools under the guidance of his mother.
