Chapter 136 - Chapter 136: Schrödinger’s Ignition Device

Even more absurdly, the ships with "Kings" actually had better order than those without.

Thus, the Avengers had no choice but to hold their noses and tacitly allow these "Kings" to exist for now, intending to settle accounts later.

With so many hidden threats, Dr. Banner's head began to throb.

He had no experience solving these kinds of problems.

He decided to stay quiet and leave the headaches to Nick Fury; he was a scientist, after all.

When Nick Fury finished his proposal, the room was silent save for the sound of breathing.

Smart men like Tony Stark knew this was a gamble, but given the circumstances, it was the only way to deal with Cybertron quickly.

Thus, they silently accepted the plan.

"Since there are no objections, we proceed. Let's discuss the specifics of the Seed Project."

The Black Egghead worked with his team for three hours, refining the plan and creating contingencies for every possible threat.

Once finalized, the meeting adjourned.

The Avengers set out on their tasks.

Tony Stark and Colonel Rhodes provided military support, manufacturing more Mark 60 space armors.

Dr. Banner dove back into spatial tech, trying to minimize the risks of draining the Sun.

Natasha and Clint infiltrated the potentially rebellious ships, using a mix of carrot and stick to convince the "Kings" to support the project.

Carol continued her role as the "human shuttle," hauling supplies to modify the Seed ships.

Nick Fury remained at the base, overseeing the entire board.

As for Steve and Thor, they were still in hell.

Magneto had them on examination tables, with his scientists researching ways to empower more mutants.

He wanted to replicate the Super-Soldier serum or find a way to turn ordinary humans into mutants.

The Earth remained in a state of superficial calm, save for the ongoing disasters.

The Avengers grew quiet, no longer sending agents to Australia.

Hydra utilized the chaos to conquer most of the globe, ruling the world in name only.

They ruled over dying refugees and didn't actually manage the land.

But in name, Hydra had annihilated over a hundred nations.

And no one protested.

The refugees were too hungry to care if their government had fallen. A name meant nothing to someone with an empty stomach.

Half a month later.

Nick Fury, fully prepared, began sending the majority of the elite ships back to Earth.

There were troublemakers, of course, but Fury was an expert at playing factions against each other.

With control over the food, any revolt was easily starved out.

And if they turned suicidal, Carol and Stark provided the absolute force required to crush them.

The early stages were rocky, but in five days, they achieved their goal.

37 million people were returned to the ground.

Now, only 500,000 of the "elite of the elite" remained in space.

These people were the key to the Seed Project.

The Avengers modified ten starships, maxing out their defenses to the point where they could withstand minor solar flares.

Carol took five of these ships and placed them behind Jupiter to shield them from a potential major solar storm.

The other five were sent further away.

One to Neptune, one to the Kuiper Belt, and one to the Oort Cloud.

The final two were pushed out of the solar system entirely.

Carol gave them an initial velocity of 0.75c, letting inertia carry them toward planets in other systems: Gliese 581g (20 light-years away) and Kepler-22b (600 light-years away).

With that, the Seed Project was complete.

Tony Stark headed to the lunar surface alone to activate the Space Bridge.

Upon landing, he cast a wary glance toward the Inhuman city.

Two months ago, the Avengers had scouted the moon to ensure the pillars wouldn't be sabotaged.

They had discovered the hidden city.

After their scout was destroyed, Nick Fury decided humanity was too fragile for another war and chose to ignore the city's existence.

Now, Stark worried the Inhumans might interfere with the transport.

Ostensible alone, he was backed by Carol, the Avengers, and hundreds of Mark 60 suits ready to jump in.

"Stark, are you ready?"

"YES!"

"Then begin. We'll keep an eye on the city for you."

After the brief exchange, Stark stood in the center of the 128 pillars.

A single pillar stood taller than the rest—the control hub.

Facing the five-meter-thick, three-hundred-meter-tall pillar, Stark pulled out his "Ignition Device," composed of a hundred second-generation Arc Reactors.

The Cybertronians had used the AllSpark as their ignition.

While the Avengers possessed it, they hadn't been able to crack its biological lockout.

So, Stark had built his own.

Untested, it was essentially a "Schrödinger's Ignition Device."

But he had faith in his intellect; there was a 90% chance it would work.

He pressed a red button.

In a millisecond, the device drained the hundred reactors dry.

A beam of blue energy slammed into the hub pillar's focal point.

Three seconds later.

The stone surface of the pillar turned into a translucent, white jade-like material.

At that moment, the alignment of the 128 pillars synchronized with the Sun.

The hub was active. Lacking sufficient energy, it automatically utilized its spatial function to begin drawing power from the star.
