Chapter 105 - The Price of a Choice

The Price of a Choice

Fear didn't knock.

It entered.

And once it did…

It never left the same.

The air inside the Voss home turned suffocating.

Heavy.

Unbearable.

Damian "El Diablo" Reyes stood at the center of it all, calm as ever—like a storm that didn't need to move to destroy everything around it.

Adrian Voss stepped forward, his composure finally breaking.

"Please… we just need more time," he said, his voice strained, desperate.

"You'll get your money. I swear—just give me a little more time."

Damian didn't even blink.

"No."

One word.

Cold.

Final.

It hit harder than any shout ever could.

Before Adrian could speak again—

A sharp metallic click echoed through the room.

Everyone froze.

Lucas.

Damian's personal bodyguard.

The gun was already raised…

Pointed directly at Adrian's head.

Elara's breath caught instantly.

Her body stiffened, fear crawling through her bones like ice.

This wasn't a threat anymore.

This was real.

"Stop!" her mother cried, her voice trembling.

"Please—don't—"

"Enough," Damian said calmly.

And just like that—

Silence fell again.

Dead.

Absolute.

He stepped forward slowly, his eyes settling on Elara.

Sharp.

Unyielding.

"Give me your daughter…"

A pause.

"…and the deal is off."

The words echoed through the room like a gunshot.

No one moved.

No one breathed.

Because what he was asking—

What he was demanding—

Was no longer a deal.

It was a sacrifice.

Then—

Another click.

Louder this time.

Sharper.

More terrifying.

Vinnie stepped forward, his own gun raised—

This time…

Pointed at their son.

Everything shattered.

Completely.

Utterly.

Or we take him," Damian said calmly, his voice almost bored.

As if he were choosing between two simple options.

But those words—

They broke something inside the room.

Inside the family.

Inside everything.

"NO!"

The mother's scream tore through the silence as she rushed forward, her body shaking violently.

"Please—please don't take my son!"

Her voice cracked, desperation spilling out uncontrollably.

"He's just a boy—please!"

The son stood frozen, fear locking his body in place, his eyes wide, unable to process what was happening.

Adrian dropped to his knees.

Just like that.

All pride.

Gone.

All power.

Gone.

"Take me instead!" he begged.

"Please—just leave my children out of this!"

But Damian didn't even look at him.

Because Adrian didn't matter anymore.

Not in this moment.

Not in this choice.

Damian's gaze remained fixed on Elara.

Only Elara.

Because she was the one who mattered.

She was the one who decided.

"The choice is yours," he said quietly.

No emotion.

No hesitation.

Just truth.

Cold.

Brutal.

Unavoidable.

Elara stood there—

Her heart pounding.

Her mind racing.

Her family breaking right in front of her.

Her father on his knees.

Her mother crying.

Her brother shaking in fear.

And the Devil…

Waiting.

Watching.

This wasn't about money anymore.

This wasn't about contracts.

This wasn't even about power.

This was about sacrifice.

Elara slowly stepped forward.

Her breathing steady…

But her eyes?

They burned.

Not with fear.

But with something else.

Something stronger.

Something dangerous.

Her voice came out low.

Controlled.

Final.

"…Put the guns down."

No one moved.

Not yet.

Because the Devil hadn't answered.

Damian's lips curved slightly.

Not into a smile.

Into something darker.

Because he knew—

She was about to choose.

And whatever she chose next…

Would change everything.
