Chapter 8 - Chapter 08: Marriage with Hidden Knives(8)

Aijira watched as the vassals entered the room one by one, below the throne, chairs and tables were placed in symmetrical lines.

Watching each vassal take a seat in their respective chairs, she waited for all of them to sit down before letting out a sigh. Feeling the cold surface of the throne, Aijira took a look at Redrick, who was standing behind her from the throne, as well as Therese.

Aijira glanced at Redrick, Is he picking my side?

Here eyes narrowed for a moment, but she didn't let it show.

She let out a cough to silence the vassals before putting her left hand up on the air and spoke, "Let the meeting commence." Her voice sounded out in the entire room.

A small hammer suddenly appeared in her hand, that made her eyes widen.

Redrick looked at the hammer, before slowly bending down his head.

As did the vassals below, their shock stuck on their faces.

Aijira on the other hand, was staring at the hammer that suddenly appeared in her hands. Sensing no hostile intent or any other malicious aura on it, she looked down to the throne and shook her head.

"...Anyway, the agenda of today's meeting will be of the matter of when the wedding of the Emperor and i will happen. If you could, tell me of all the suitable dates..?"

Aijira put the hammer down, intending to study it for later when the hammer went back to the hand.

"?" Aijira stared at the hammer, putting it back down again, it appeared back in her hand.

The vassals stared at her in shock and disbelief as Redrick coughed.

"T-That is the Consort's Justice, Dear Consort."

Aijira turned her head to the back of the throne and stared at Redrick for more information, or an explanation of what was happening.

"Ahem. The Consort's Justice is a weapon that only the Consort that sits on the Silver Throne could wield. It was created to balance the Golden Throne's immense power and also strengthens it if it sees fit."

Redrick then pulled out a small device and soon, an image showed. In the image was a golden haired man with a black crown on his head, holding a spear while marching in the battlefield. Soon after, a woman in white hair and a blue tiara flew to the skies with her black wings, holding a small hammer in her palm.

The white haired woman span the small hammer in the air before grabbing the handle and threw it towards a city. The hammer was small at first, but the closer it was to the city, the bigger it became. Soon the entire city was flattened by the hammer as the woman went back down.

"The Consort's Justice acts as both a suppression and an enhancer for the Imperial Emperor or Empress and balances the Empire's fate between good and evil, as to let the empire prosper."

Redrick patted his chest and continued, looking at the Hammer in Aijira's hands in fascination.

"It was said that once an Imperial that sits on the Golden Throne gets married, the Silver Throne would give the Consort the Consort's Justice. But to think the Silver Throne would already give you the hammer, and even not let you let it go."

Redrick stared at the hammer even more as Aijira threw it away and found it back in her hands. Clicking her tongue, she turned to look down at the throne before giving up. "Okay, sheesh. Anyway, back to the meeting. Any suggestions?"

Everyone looked at one another for a moment, then took turns to say something.

"A month from now, a festival that praisies..."

"A few weeks later, there will be a celebration..."

Aijira heard their suggestions one by one, frowning at each turn. Somehow, in the following months, there would be some kind of important celebration or festival and whatnot.

The soonest she and Malik could wed was 5 months, and even then, that was subject to change.

5 months will be enough to consolidate my influence in the capital, it will be more than enough. But if i can't take control of the Royal Influence that being wedded to the Emperor, then my plans will crumble...

The vassals smiled as they saw the Consort.

"We truly suggest that you take a year to get to know the Emperor, Dear Consort."

Aijira frowned within, A year? That will throw everything to ash. I need to find a way to lessen that time it will take for our marriage....

Aijira took a glance at the vassal that spoke that and mentally clicked her tongue.

"And why should i?" Aijira spoke.

The vassal that just spoke then excitedly smiled, "Although the Emperor's.... personality is far from normal, but he is a good person. He's stubborn to a fault but that stubbornness doesn't come from pride—"

Hmm? This is new. Aijira's eyes widened slightly.

"Okay i will cut you off right there. That is bad mouthing the Emperor."

"Wha—, that's not my intentions! I was just explaining to the Consort—"

"Shut it!"

The vassals beside him pulled him down and covered his mouth as Redrick let out a sigh of relief.

Aijira stared at them, then to Redrick, before staring back at them.

"Continue, i want to hear more..."

Another vassal stood up and bowed, "Excuse my treachery, Dear Consort but talking about the Emperor's personality, is a bit rude for us to do as vassals... After all—"

"I want to hear it." Aijira glared at the vassal, who flinched and slowly sat back down on his seat.

She turned to the vassal that spoke earlier, who excitedly wanted to stand up but couldn't because his fellow vassals were clenching at his leg beneath the table.

Aijira waited for a moment, staring at the man.

A deep analysis about Emperor Malik's personality could provide me with more information other than the surface level info i got from Charlie.

Aijira thought to herself as she waited.

Seeing that the vassal wouldn't speak, nor stand to speak again, Aijira feld irritated.

"Will you not speak?"

She addressed the vassal, who flinched, then turned to his fellow vassals who furiously shook their head, sweat started dripping from his forehead as he stared at the woman on the throne.

That same woman who was now exuding a deadly aura that pressured everyone in the room.

He turned to look at the other vassals who also shook their heads and kept his mouth shut.

Aijira glared at him, intending to pressure him into speaking when all of the sudden, the door to the hall opened.

A man shrouded in darkness entered the room, his golden hair was the only source of light in that darkness.

Wearing a black uniform that fitted him perfectly, he walked towards her as the vassals stood up as soon as the man's steps began. They knelt down as the man walked towards the Golden Throne and sat on it.

The Emperor, Malik the Tyrant has arrived.

Aijira slowly stood up nd made a curt bow and spoke, "I greet the Emperor."
