Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Good Day?

The air was calm and vibrant. A myriad of people were on the 2nd floor of the god of memory's tower. Scholars, researchers, historian's even scientists. But one person stood out amongst the crowd a small dark-haired boy surrounded by piles of books. The boy had been there for 5hrs straight. Only rising from his seat when he had finished reading the latest pile and then coming back with a new one. The boy was oblivious to the stares his strange behavior was causing. Instead he was completely focused on the book in front of him. It was indeed a strange sight for Arthur.

Arthur called out to his son for them to leave the tower having finished with his business. Normally he'd have left his son to continue reading but they didn't have to luxury of time it was already past noon and they hadn't sold Their wares yet. They couldn't afford to waste more time considering they had to get back home by tomorrow. He waited for his son to finish returning all the books to the shelves then they left the tower.

Roxanne was waiting for them outside. His brother Cyrus sleeping peacefully in her arms. Ayla was behind Roxanne clinging onto her mother's blue sundress.

"Soo… tell us, how was it?" Roxanne asked.

"It was fun, I read a lot about the first age, the first prince Aurelion and a lot of other stuff. It was fun." Aster said full of enthusiasm

"Well, that's nice" Arthur remarked ruffling his son's hair.

Roxanne smiled "come on. We don't have that much time let's go" she also muttered something about the tower under her breath but Aster couldn't quite figure out what she said.

As the family sold their goods Aster noticed something about the people of The lantern town. He didn't know why but the people of the town treated his family differently. Like something was missing in Their interactions. He didn't understand why he felt that way but he did.

It was already evening by the time the family finished selling their goods. For Aster the day was, eventful, to say the least. He finally got to visit the tower.

A strange man in a black cloak asked him questions about a river.

He tried to join the kids playing but failed.

And now he was enjoying some delicious desserts with his family in Auntie Liz's Café. Ayla was sitting beside him, she had been quiet the whole trip, only speaking when absolutely necessary. He understood her fear but this, this was different. Aster studied her. She was looking down at her plate Somberly. Whatever it was Aster was going to be there for her.
