Chapter 21 - Mito's Wish

Senba listened to her words, and memories of Jiraiya surfaced in his mind.

The future "Toad Sage," one of the Sannin, and the man who taught two Hokage: Minato and Naruto.

His strength was unquestionable, but at this point in time, the Second Ninja War hadn't yet broken out, and he was just a young man who had just begun to make a name for himself.

'I just don't know if he reached the elite Jonin level yet.'

Of the Sannin, Jiraiya was a late bloomer, but he eventually became the strongest.

Senba lowered his head. 'So, Nawaki is going to find Jiraiya to learn Ninjutsu to get revenge on me, huh. That's quite interesting.'

Looking at Jiraiya's students—Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan, whom he met in the Land of Rain—basically none of what they were good at was taught by Jiraiya.

Minato went without saying; the Rasengan was self-created, and Jiraiya certainly didn't know the Flying Thunder God Technique.

As for Naruto, the Rasengan Jiraiya taught him was Minato's legacy, and as for other things, it was just the summoning contract with Mount Myōboku.

The toads of Mount Myōboku at least helped Minato and Naruto learn Sage Mode, which showed that Jiraiya was truly not suited for teaching students.

Tsunade saw him lost in thought and thought he was worried, so she patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry, that idiot Jiraiya can't teach any powerful Ninjutsu. Even if Nawaki learns them, he still won't be able to beat you."

Senba looked up and smiled. "Oh, I'm not worried."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Then what were you thinking about just now?"

Senba thought for a moment and answered truthfully, "I was just wondering what Ninjutsu Jiraiya-sama knows right now."

Tsunade burst into laughter. "What does he know? He can fling his hair around! He can summon toads and spit oil!"

She laughed until tears came to her eyes. "Let me tell you, that guy's Ninjutsu are all weird stuff that normal people can't learn!"

Senju Momoka put down her teacup and frowned, "Tsunade, don't belittle Jiraiya like that. Although he's the weakest of you three, given time, he'll become someone great."

Tsunade waved her hand. "I know, I know. I'm just complaining a little."

After ten minutes of ideal chatter, She stood up and stretched. "Alright then, Grandma, Grandma Momoka, you two continue chatting. I'm taking this kid to find Jiraiya and Nawaki."

Senba nodded at the two old ladies and followed Tsunade out.

Mito watched his back, a thoughtful look flashing in her eyes. "What do you think that child is learning from Tsunade?"

Momoka fell into deep thought. Although Tsunade said that Senba had self-taught the C-rank Healing Technique, they still found it a bit hard to believe.

After all, members of the Uchiha Clan were all battle maniacs; it was unlikely they would learn Medical Ninjutsu and become Medical Ninja who needed protection from teammates.

Mito continued, "It can't be that he is learning MEDICAL NINJUTSU from her, right? Although very few people in the Uchiha Clan possess Yang-style Chakra, it's not impossible."

Momoka nodded slightly. The Uchiha Clan excelled in Fire Release and Genjutsu. Their Chakra attributes were basically Fire and Yin, and very few people possessed Yang-style Chakra.

Yang-style Chakra was the foundation of Medical Ninjutsu and also the energy required after Taijutsu reached its peak. Tsunade's Superhuman Strength and Medical Ninjutsu all relied on the support of powerful Yang-style Chakra.

An Uchiha child learning Medical Ninjutsu from Tsunade? This really sounded a bit strange.

"If it's just Taijutsu, Tsunade would never take him as a disciple," Momoka said.

Mito nodded in agreement. She knew Tsunade best; the girl looked careless, but in reality, her standards were extremely high.

To be taken as her disciple, one either had to have astonishing talent or special potential. Ordinary Taijutsu geniuses simply couldn't catch her eye.

"But an Uchiha learning Medical Ninjutsu, this really..." Momoka frowned, before suddenly remembering something, "Wait, I think I finally remembered that kid's identity. He's Kagami's nephew."

Mito's eyes lit up slightly. Uchiha Kagami, that young man who disappeared just after the First Ninja World War ended, a disciple of the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama, and one of the few in the Uchiha Clan who truly understood the will of fire.

During his lifetime, he had a close relationship with the Third Hokage Hiruzen and also had interactions with Tsunade, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and others. If that child was Kagami's nephew, then no wonder his temperament was different from the others.

"Kagami was indeed exceptional back then." Mito sighed softly, "Although he was an Uchiha, he was never confined by the traditions of the clan. He understood Konoha, understood the will of fire, and understood the meaning of a Ninja's existence."

Momoka nodded, "If that child inherited Kagami's aspirations and wants to walk a different path, then asking Tsunade to be his teacher to learn Medical Ninjutsu is not strange at all."

"It's not just aspirations," Mito smiled, her gaze once again looking in the direction where Senba had disappeared. "That child's eyes are very similar to Kagami's—calm, clear, and with his own thoughts."

The two were silent for a moment, then Mito suddenly spoke again, "Touka, what do you think that child's future will be like?"

Momoka thought for a while and slowly said, "It's hard to say, but to be noticed by Tsunade at six years old, his talent must be quite good."

"But talent is one thing, and growth is another. Konoha doesn't lack geniuses; what it lacks are geniuses who can survive."

"Indeed." Mito nodded. She picked up her teacup and took another sip. "However, being able to make Tsunade take the initiative to accept him as a disciple at least shows that there is something about that child that moved her."

"You seem to think highly of him?" Momoka looked curious.

Mito smiled and did not answer directly. "I just think that Konoha needs more children like Kagami."

She put down her teacup and looked toward the distant sky. "Whether it's the Uchiha, the Senju, or the Hyuga... they are all children of Konoha. As long as they are willing to protect this Village and willing to inherit the will of fire, they are worth looking forward to."

Her time was limited, and before meeting Hashirama, she had to make sure that Konoha was left in safe hands.

She won't allow any cancer to fester in the village.
