How dare he call me that!
The Green Goblin had initially been seething. Being called a "clown" by the Arbiter made him want to teach the newcomer a lesson he'd never forget.
But as he watched Peter ignore the completely disproportionate size difference and floor the Lizard with a single strike, the look behind his goblin mask cleared up instantly.
Ummm... suddenly, being called a clown doesn't seem like such a big deal...
On the other side, Dr. Connors—sprawled on the floor—felt his mind go blank. Did I just... get floored by a human?
Influenced by the lizard DNA, the Doctor's thought process was currently warped. He instinctively viewed humans as inferior lifeforms; only lizard-men were noble beings! And now, a noble lizard-man had been put on the ground by an inferior human!
Realizing this, the Lizard became incandescent with rage. He let out a threatening low hiss, using both his hands and feet to scramble up.
His thick tail whipped out like a steel lash, tearing through the air with a vicious whistle! This strike was powerful enough to send a one-ton sedan flying.
But facing this thunderous blow, Peter's expression didn't flicker. He simply raised his right hand...
Under the incredulous gazes of the Lizard, the Goblin, and Gwen in the distance, he casually—almost dismissively—caught that massive, heavy tail with his palm.
The violent kinetic energy, upon contacting Peter's palm, was like a mud ox entering the sea; it vanished without a trace. Peter's body didn't budge an inch!
"What?!" The Lizard's slit pupils were wide with disbelief. How is this possible?! How can my strength be so easily intercepted by such a tiny human?!
Before it could react to the shock, Peter's arm muscles bunched!
"Time for takeoff~"
In the next second, an irresistible, terrifying force surged from the tail. The Lizard's multi-ton body was hoisted into the air by Peter's raw strength!
WHOOSH!
The Lizard became a human-hammer-throw, tracing a perfect arc through the sky!
CRASH!!!
The reinforced concrete wall was like wet paper, shattered instantly into a gaping hole! The Lizard's massive body smashed into the hallway, collapsing the concrete balcony and completely bending the metal railings under the sheer force.
"This... how is this possible!" Gwen watched the scene, her brain stalled. The lizard monster she had struggled with all her might just to stall was currently being treated like a... spinning top by this "Arbiter" guy? Was this person... even human?
ROAR!
Shaking his dizzy head, the Lizard let out another furious roar. As a being possessing strength on par with Peter's base power, he wasn't going to be put down by just two moves.
Rage completely drowned out his remaining sanity; he lunged at Peter, relying on primal survival instincts to launch a fierce assault.
Claws shredded the air, whistling with the breath of the reaper. The thick tail whipped out again, attempting to fold Peter like a flip-phone.
But Peter remained unfazed. With a simple sidestep, he effortlessly dodged the tail: "Want to stretch your legs? Fine, I'll play with you for a bit!"
Peter's fists began to blur in the air! Gwen—who was busy weaving through the goblins' pumpkin bombs—felt her heart leap into her throat. Is he crazy? Why is he giving up his superior technique to trade blows with that monster?
BANG! BANG! BANG!
As the thought crossed Gwen's mind, the rhythmic thud of flesh hitting flesh echoed out. She glanced over and saw that the Arbiter was actually trading blow-for-blow with the monster!
Moreover, he looked like he was taking a stroll in the park. He didn't seem to feel any pressure at all. No—it wasn't that he didn't seem to feel it; he truly felt nothing. The guy even... found the time to raise a hand and fake a yawn?!
This move dealt low damage, but the insult was maximum.
The Lizard's eyes turned from yellow-brown to a blood-red! He attacked Peter with near-manic desperation, their battle turning the hallway into a wasteland. The floor was pitted with craters, and every wall or classroom they passed was dismantled.
Down on the athletic field, the evacuated high schoolers had initially been holding their breath in terror. But seeing the two fight with such vigor, they actually started cheering. The Arbiter and that lizard were currently demolishing their school!
Every student has had that daydream: "I'm gonna blow up the school with a backpack full of TNT!" Now, the dream had met reality!
For every punch the Arbiter or the Lizard threw at a classroom, that was another potential day off!
Some of the seniors realized they might just be able to stay home until graduation! No school until the end of the year—what a beautiful thing!
"So cool! Arbiter, do us a favor—hit the classroom next to you one more time!" "Nice! I love you, Arbiter! I want to have your babies!"
Seeing that an entire floor of the teaching building had been nearly leveled and that the Lizard was slowing down, Peter finally mocked:
"Hey, really? I haven't even started trying yet, and you're already gassing out?"
"Insignificant human! Cease your arrogance!" the Lizard snarled back.
But his response only proved his weakness. If the serum were still at peak effectiveness, he wouldn't be speaking such coherent sentences.
"Arrogance?!"
Peter sneered. In the next second, he became a black-and-red blur.
BOOM!
A straight punch landed like a heavy cannon shell in the Lizard's gut! The monster was caught off guard; his toughened scales shattered, and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
"Not finished yet!"
Peter didn't give the airborne Lizard a chance to stabilize. He stomped the ground, launching himself after the monster.
"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA...!"
A rapid-fire barrage of "Normal Punches" rained down. The Lizard felt like a small boat in a hurricane. His massive frame became nothing more than a giant punching bag, finding no opening to counter-attack as he was hammered backward in a chorus of "ORA"s.
After absorbing hundreds of blows, his joints deformed and his body shrinking back toward human size, the Lizard struggled to rise from the rubble, but failed repeatedly. Finally, his vision went black.
