Chapter 17:
As soon as Sebastian put his phone away, the brief softness that had appeared on his face vanished. His usual icy-cold expression returned, leaving the others staring at him in confusion.
He calmly placed the knife on the table, adjusted the sleeves of his shirt, and slipped his hands into his pockets.
"Nicholas, handle the rest."
With those words, Sebastian turned around and left the room with Theo following close behind.
Afternoon ~
Meanwhile, Yuvan was busy preparing Sebastian's favourite dish.
Once the food was ready, he carefully packed it into two lunch boxes. As he was about to finish, he noticed Cassion walking out.
"Cassian!" Yuvan called.
Cassian stopped and turned around.
"Yes?"
Yuvan quickly rushed toward him, carrying the two lunch boxes in his hands.
"Here, take these. The black one is for Sebastian, and the blue one is for you."
He handed the boxes to Cassion before adding with a gentle smile,
"Remember to give Sebastian his lunch, and don't forget to eat yours, too."
Cassian smiled and took the boxes before giving him an exaggerated salute.
"Yes, Ma'am!"
His overly dramatic response made Yuvan laugh.
"Alright, alright. Now go. It's already lunchtime."
Cassion nodded and bid him goodbye before leaving.
At Sterling Enterprise ~
Cassian casually made his way toward Sebastian's cabin. Once he reached the door, he knocked.
"Who is it?" Sebastian's voice came from inside, cold and clearly irritated.
Cassian immediately understood that Sebastian was in a bad mood.
"I have a parcel for you," Cassian said as he poked his head through the doorway.
"I don't have time for your stupid parcels," Sebastian snapped.
Cassian sighed dramatically.
"Aww, that's too bad. Yuvan sent this especially for you, but I suppose it's alright. Theo and I can eat it instead."
He deliberately made his voice sound disappointed.
The moment Sebastian heard Yuvan's name, his expression changed.
He stood up immediately and crossed the room with surprising speed.
Before Cassian could react, Sebastian snatched the lunch box from his hands.
"Get out."
Sebastian hugged the box against his chest as if Cassian might try to take it back.
Cassian stared at him for a moment before a mischievous smirk appeared on his face.
"Didn't you just say you didn't want it?"
Sebastian gave him a cold look.
He didn't answer.Instead, he simply slammed the door shut in Cassian's face.
"Ouch!"
Cassian rubbed his face, glaring at the closed door.
He muttered a curse under his breath before turning around and leaving.
Inside the cabin, Sebastian paid no attention to him.
For the first time that day, a faint smile appeared on his face.
He returned to his desk, sat down, and carefully opened the lunch box.
A small, neatly folded piece of paper was resting on top of it.
Sebastian picked it up and unfolded it.
His eyes softened as he read the familiar handwriting.
Ihope you enjoy your meal and have a good day. I'll be waiting for you at home, so come soon. Love you.
—Yuvan
A small smile tugged at Sebastian's lips.
He carefully folded the note again, as though it were something precious, and slipped it into the inner pocket of his coat.
Only then did he begin eating.
After finishing his lunch, Sebastian returned to his work.
Evening ~
After completing the rest of his work, Sebastian arranged the files into a neat pile and leaned back in his chair. It was finally time to go home.
Sebastian picked up his coat and left his cabin.
The elevator doors closed behind him as he began descending from the forty-eighth floor.
While waiting, he checked the time on his watch. 6:30 p.m.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
'Yuvan must be waiting for me.'
Just then, his phone rang.
Sebastian answered the call and brought the phone to his ear.
"Master, all the work has been completed."
