The more Raphael looked, the angrier he got, grinding his teeth so hard sparks almost shot out. He was trying to guess if this handwriting belonged to someone he'd seen before, but there was no way to tell.
The person who did this was way too careful. They didn't write it themselves but used different fonts following templates, making it impossible for Raphael to recognize any distinctive traits of the writing.
"Who the hell is it?!"
His brain was running at full capacity. He couldn't think of any names, but the name of the force behind this was definitely The Great Sun Temple.
No one besides The Great Sun Temple should even know about this place. They're not the type to go around shouting that their temple master lost a foot here.
"You guys see me as a criminal, huh? Now I've got an unformed god. Once he's strong enough, I'm gonna smash that damn organization to pieces."
At this point, he wasn't thinking about ancestral traditions at all, since he'd long since refused to acknowledge having the Demiurgos name.
Gabriel was definitely also planning to confront The Great Sun Temple. As long as Michael and Leo grew up, plus the two of them, that'd make at least four demigods here. That should be enough to smash Sun Capital and run.
He summoned Celestial Sword and swung his first technique, destroying the entire statue and everything around it. Poor little trees that had just recently grown now had their roots slashed off.
"Hmph, you bastard who dared to insult my wife… Just wait, I'll make you pay."
Raphael would rather leave Rias without a grave than allow her grave to exist as a joke like this. Leaving behind a harsh remark, he flew back.
---
He left fast and returned fast. In less than an hour, he appeared right in front of the house.
"That quick? Something wrong?"
Seeing Raphael's face full of murderous intent, even Michael thinking with his knees could tell the statue Glacior built back then had issues. And it was an unacceptable issue, which was why Raphael ended up like this.
"Hmph, just talking about it pisses me off. You two, do you wanna smash The Great Sun Temple? If you do, I'll support you all the way."
???
You kidding? A joy this unexpected? Michael and Leo were originally thinking of ways to get Raphael to enthusiastically help, never expecting that he'd go out and come back and already be this proactive.
No one was happier than Leo. His current dream, he didn't know how to make it happen, but with these two reliable helpers, what was there to worry about? At the very least, he had plenty of time to think and develop until he knew exactly what to do.
"Awesome. So can you help me awaken?"
Michael couldn't hold back anymore. He wanted to see just how strong his god-level talent really was.
"Awaken? You're only three years old, what's there to awaken?"
Raphael was widely learned and deeply knowledgeable. In tens of thousands of years of history, there was no exception. The info on Sun God and Sea God from back then was incomplete, but they were the first humans to become contractors.
"Three my ass. I'm a god. Before I had this body, I had another one. Leo's a soul who crossed over from another world. His age is probably a bit less than yours, but definitely way more than twelve."
Michael's sudden words made Leo's eyes go wide. At the same time, he stared warily at Raphael. After all, his newborn son being "swapped" with a middle-aged uncle wasn't exactly good news.
Seeing Leo suddenly on guard, Raphael found it a bit amusing. This was the first time he'd seen Leo scared of him like this.
"What are you so scared of? I'm a demigod. I've long transcended the realm of mortals. I know well that humans can only give birth to bodies but we don't have the right to interfere with souls.
You're still my son, a special case with no one like you in all of history. Doesn't that just mean I was chosen by fate?"
He paused for a moment, then thought about the misfortunes of recent years. Clearly unhappy inside, but he could only sigh.
"If being chosen by fate means Rias dies, then I don't want it. But I know it's not your fault. It's that damn old bastard Gabriel's fault. He's suddenly going crazy and stealing a divine artifact for what?"
Raphael had always been clear about the root cause of everything being Gabriel. Even though Gabriel was his father, they rarely saw each other.
He was sure Gabriel did it for some damn plan. But he didn't understand what could be so important that Gabriel was willing to sacrifice the whole family like that.
???
So Raphael was actually this understanding? Both Leo and Michael were stunned by his calmness in the face of this "earth-shattering" news. Any normal man hearing this, even if they didn't get furious, would at least feel unhappy.
Would Leo be moved to tears by feeling a father's love? Of course not. But he did think a lot higher of Raphael. Because only special people had the mentality to bear such huge responsibility.
"Ha ha ha, we're finally being honest with each other. It'll make things a lot smoother in the future."
Michael laughed heartily. For him, this was a small victory paving the way for bigger ones later.
"Not yet. You still haven't told me why you're following Leo. You're a god, so no matter how special he is, it shouldn't compare to you."
Raphael was also very curious about this. He even suspected Leo might actually be another god. But the current situation was enough for him to understand that Leo had never been a god at all.
"Gods have gods' responsibilities. I'm forced to help Leo become the king of this world."
Michael didn't hide anything and said Leo's damn wish outright.
