Michael had eaten goat meat before and the taste wasn't bad. But when he bought some home and cooked it himself, it was a disaster smell-wise. He didn't remember what he did wrong, but that smell was super unpleasant.
This time, hearing about a whole roasted goat that had been left to cool made that uneasy feeling in his chest grow bigger and bigger.
And sure enough, that feeling wasn't for nothing. As soon as he walked to the backyard of Michael's house, he saw a goat grilled completely black.
One look and you could tell there was no prep work done at all, and the goat didn't even have a head. Probably Raphael just sliced its head off with one sword swing, then brought the body back and threw it on the fire to roast.
The skin was pretty much burnt black, but the meat was still okay on the inside even if the outside was charred.
It was probably roasted over low heat for a long time. If it was high heat, the outside would burn while the inside stayed totally raw.
