Chapter 86 - Chapter 86: broken equilibrium

Before we continue, we are gonna go back to high school, secondary school, or whatever.

"Huh? Let's go on with the story!" the class shouted.

"Yes I agree " a guy said

"Yes, yes, yeah!" the entire class chimed in, wanting to see the Captains finally land a hit.

"Ok, sure," the author replied, "but I want to explain something about the Zethrians and Xerxes-Vahl's power. It's important."

"Ok, let's begin. What is the Law of Equilibrium? In physics, the Law of Equilibrium occurs when the total sum of all forces (\sum F = 0) and all moments or torques (\sum \tau = 0) acting upon an object is equal to zero.

It's basically like a scale ⚖️. If one side is too heavy, the system is unbalanced. Xerxes-Vahl's power is based on the Law of Equilibrium. He doesn't just block; he forces the universe to balance the equation. If you bring a force of 1,000, he simply adds a negative 1,000 to the other side of the scale. Result? Zero."

 "Now, back to ."

Sector 1

"How?" Julian whispered, his eyes widening as he watched the Captains' ultimate move vanish into thin air. "How is this possible? Three Captains... a triple combo... and still not a scratch?"

Elena Voss stepped back, her hands trembling. "We have no chance. If the Captains can't even touch him, what are we supposed to do?"

Kylo moved forward, a fierce smile breaking across his face despite the sweat dripping down his temple. "Quit your whining! We are the Agris Prime, the strongest team in the Xenocides. We must do our jobs. First, we need to take care of these Zethrian drones. Leave the 'him ' to the Captains!"

Nearby, the 10th Division was reeling from the shockwave of the nullified attack.

"Damn, what just happened?" Nyx asked,.

"I have no idea," Elias said, as he killed a zethrian drone.

Renji stepped forward, his Star Eyes spinning with mechanical precision. "That scale... it's made of pure Evo-energy. It's balanced during the attack."

"Equilibrium," Cipher added coldly.

The three Captains—Drakye Void, Reid, and Shadow—stood their ground. They didn't look defeated; they looked focused.

"Well, this is actually our first time battling a Zethrian Commander... they really live up to their names," Drakye Void said, adjusting his collar.

"Yeah, they do," Reid and Shadow replied in unison.

Xerxes snapped his fingers. The golden scale above him tipped. Suddenly, the gravity in the plaza didn't increase—it became unstable. In one square inch, gravity pushed up; in the next, it pulled left.

"Vector: Stabilize!" Reid roared. He touched the ground, stabilising the gravity.

He wasn't just moving objects anymore; he was trying to hold the laws of physics together so his team didn't get ripped apart by the spatial turbulence.

Drakye Void took to the air. "You want to balance the world? Then balance the storm!"

Drakye clapped his hands, he compressed air

"Air bullet" drakye said as he fired the compressed air bullet towards Xerxes, Xerxes smiled " law of equilibrium: balanced " the air bullet, disappeared as it was about to hit Xerxes.

then Xerxes moved towards drakye and punched him sending drakye away as he crashed into the buildings.

"My turn," Shadow hissed.

Shadow didn't attack from the outside. He used everyone's and the objects shadow to he's advantage.

Every shadow cast by the rubble and everyone became a jagged spear. Thousands of black blades erupted from the earth, surrounding Xerxes in a dome of darkness.

"Shadow Execution: Infinite Maw!"

The dome collapsed inward. It was an attack with no physical mass—pure conceptual darkness. You can't balance darkness with physics.

Or so they thought.

"Darkness is the shadow of light," Xerxes whispered. "Equilibrium: divine light."

The Commander's body became a sun. A blinding light erupted from his core, so bright that it erased every shadow in the sector. Shadow screamed as his "Maw" was vaporized, forced back into their original owners.

While the Captains fought Xerxes , the Divisions were in a literal meat-grinder.

"Drones at three o'clock!" Jaxen shouted, unleashing a chain-lightning bolt that jumped through ten drones.

Mikasa was a blur of steel and gunpowder. She had summoned a twin pair of mechanical arms that held massive shields, while her own hands operated a railgun. "Stay behind me, 10th! I'll give you the opening!"

Kylo and the Agris Prime moved in a diamond formation. "Gravity Well: 500x!" Kylo roared. He pinned a group of elite drones to the ground, and

Vance blasted them using a plasma gun a

"We're holding them!" Julian cried out, sweat pouring down his face. "But the Captains... they're losing ground!"

Back at the center, the three Captains were panting. Reid's gloves were smoking, his fingers raw from manipulating the high-energy vectors. Shadow's eyes were bloodshot, and Drakye's cloak was shredded.

Xerxes-Vahl remained untouched. His tattered hat hadn't even fallen off.

"You are fighting against the universe itself," Xerxes said, walking calmly toward them. "Every strike you make is an addition. Every addition requires a subtraction. Your lives are the only things left to subtract."

"Not yet," Reid said, standing tall. "Drakye, Shadow... Let's try something else, let's try The 'Broken Equation"

Drakye and Shadow nodded. Their faces turned grim.

"Kylo! Elias! Get everyone as far away as you can!" Drakye shouted. "We're going to overload the scale!"

The three Captains linked hands.

"Vector: Infinite Velocity!"

"Air: infinite vaccum!"

"Shadow: absolute darkness!"

The energy didn't fly toward Xerxes. It swirled around the three Captains, forming a spinning sphere of chaotic energy. They weren't trying to hit him with a direct force anymore. They were creating a Singularity—a point in space where physics breaks down.

If physics breaks down, the Law of Equilibrium has nothing to calculate.

The sphere grew, turning from white to black to a terrifying, neon violet. The ground beneath the Captains vanished into a bottomless pit.

"This is it!" Shadow roared. "The Broken Equation!"

They launched the singularity. It moved slowly, a flickering ball of "Nothingness" that ate the light, the air, and the very ground it passed over.

Xerxes-Vahl's four eyes widened. For the first time, he raised both hands. The golden scale above him began to shake violently. The butterflies screamed in a high-pitched frequency that shattered glass for miles.

"Balance... I must... Balance..." Xerxes' voice lost its calm.

The singularity touched the scale.

BOOM.

The explosion wasn't fire. It was a ripple in reality. For a second, everyone in Sector 1 saw the "Code" of the world—the strings of Evo-energy that held everything together. The drones where complete destroyed by the shock wave and buildings were levelled.

When the light faded, the three Captains were on their knees, coughing up blood.

Xerxes-Vahl was still standing, but his tattered hat was gone. His four eyes were bleeding, and the golden scale above him was cracked down the middle.

"You... broke the law," Xerxes whispered, his voice trembling with a mixture of rage and awe.

"The law... is meant to be broken," Drakye Void rasped, looking up with a bloody smirk.

The Captains had finally drawn blood. But as Xerxes-Vahl wiped the violet blood from his face.

"Now," Xerxes said, his voice dropping into

a register that sounded like a dying star. "The real fight begins."
