Few hours later,
First person,
"So Luffy, our food supplies are low. Should we refill from the next island?" I asked, as the blond chef cooks a lot of food but is it not his fault his food is always damn good and hunger in this world works differently than mine previous one.
"We can. We should." He responded cheerfully while he sat on the head of merry observing the sea. "The temperature is dropping." Robin stated, rubbing his shoulders yet she was not alone who was suddenly feeling cold out of nowhere.
"Drum island is near." Vivi spoke coming out of her quarter followed by Nami. Vivi took out her small scope and observed as far as he could possibly though it.
"What is that place?" Zoro asked, curiously as she cleans his blade one by one peacefully and looked at Nami who was standing next to him blocking the sunlight.
"Drum Island is a Winter Island in Paradise. Perhaps the third island of our journey." Nami responded in detail. She held a compass and map in another hand thoroughly searching.
"Ussop turned the wheel in that direction." Nami commanded. While pointing the direction without thinking or asking about the location he steer the ship.
"It's so peaceful, I'm not used to this ship." I muttered, not in disappointment but discomfort in a low voice but everyone heard him except for Ussop.
"You are a battle manic Draco, do you mind if I sit here?" Robin approached me as I was leaning against something she leaned on me with a mischievous smile on her face.
"You are so horny Robin, perhaps I have spoiled you a lot?" I responded to the flirting and teasing she was doing with her eyes and smile. "Indeed, you did. See Nami, Vivi can't resist you and is jealous of me right now?"
As she pointed out I looked at the two blushing and shy girls barely making eye contact after the steamy night activity. "My dragon side of hormones are reacting. Try to control yourself. Or I will punish you harder."
"How about we do it again, you are very addictive. Moreover my life belongs to you. Tell me will you protect me against...." She asked pressing her body against mine, she appeared to be semi serious yet sultry. "World."
I interjected with one word she was my fuck buddy and I love smash her not counting what I or any one could do what the devil fruit of hers.
(-R18-)
Few hours later,
"We have an issue!! Nami is getting a strong fever which has already reached 39*C." Vivi yelled and got the attention of everyone who was around or present nearby. They stopped doing what they were doing to check if the claim was true.
"What!!" Sanji shouted in panic and was the first to rush followed by others.
"Call Draco so he can help her out." Zoro commented. As he watches Nami shaking on her bed with a thick blanket over her keeping her warm.
"Where is he?" Ussop inquired immediately, as the most medical person on the ship was Draco. Not an official human doctor or medic but his knowledge made him appropriate to be called a doctor.
"Last I saw him he was with Robin." Vivi quickly responded. They all looked at Luffy who was still observing and assessing Nami's critical condition.
"If he dares to touch robin I will beat his ass!." The blond cook threatened out of jealousy, unlike others he saw Draco was very intimate with the crew or ship women then even himself which pisses him off.
"Cook you couldn't beat me in a fight, how could you even think of defeating him?" Zoro stated with a smug expression which triggered the blond cook effortlessly.
"What did you just barking about, you moss head bastard! You are not too different from me!" He argued, silencing Zoro for a second as Zoro also was defeated by Draco. "Did anyone call me? Hey stop your meaningless less fighting"
Draco himself arrived at the medic room. His steamy session was disturbed due to the loud and louder verbal disagreement happening around. He saw Nami and others in panic and distressed, he knew Nami's situation hence he was not anxious about it.
The first one to inform Luffy was walking next to Draco with a serious expression: his ship navigator was on line; without her they were a lost sheep in the forest or sea. "Draco Nami's health is deteriorating. She has an extremely high fever."
"What?! She was fine a few hours ago? But it could be true she showed me some sort of symptoms of poisoning during the giant fight with Luffy."
"Wait!! you know it." Everyone yelled in confusion upon Draco revealing the truth, interrupting him in between the reasoning. They all have many questions now for him which he could have answered if he wanted.
"Yup that's why the symptoms reacted late. I have personally given her some med to delay the issue but it also has reached a limit. We need to find a real doctor from a nearby island."
*Ship shaking up
Before only one could ask for future talk the entire ship began to tremble most likely due to the huge sea waves. "What that!" Few shouted yet everyone had the same thought holding something to stay stable.
"Big waves we need to stabilize the ship." Draco stated as the sea is rather unforgiving to those who take it for granted. "I think we are under attack, Vivi takes care of Nami and the rest of us on deck."
"Mee too…?" Ussop asked in stress and was terrified as usual. Upon hearing
"Last time I checked you are the 'brave warriors of the sea' who have some dignity so fight alongside us."
On deck
In a few seconds everyone arrived on the deck to understand the reason for the tremor. "This ship is mine now!" A fat middle aged man with blue hair wearing some sort of red suit yelled as he effortlessly took a big chuck of the wooden structure of the ship and ate it like it was a warm evening snack.
Ussop yelled in panic and anger but instantly turned cold feet as he saw the ship behind a middle age invader. "That pig is eating our ship!" All his courage and anger flush downed like shit in a pot as they were sounded by hundreds of armed guys on other ships aiming at them.
"Who are you pirates? Doesn't matter, give up fighting and give your women and gold and all treasure to me. I am king of drum island."
Draco ordered in rage. "Luffy zoro sanji fuck them up!" Unable to tolerate a random fool trying to test their strength and patience in the sea.
"He's eating and destroy marry!" Luffy observed and launched an attack in fury instantly. "Gum Gum pistol." As he stretched his arm back as much as he could and pushed forward with greater strength the pirate spoke a few words.
"I am Walpol. Bow down and I may-" Before he could finish he was sent flying in the sky.
"All the guns are pointed at us, what should we do, Draco." Ussop asked hiding behind the strongest of the crew, his legs shaking but his act never was tough and strong on the outside. The squad ignored him and focused on the armed companion of the king which was just sent flying.
"Beat the crap out of these fucking clowns who are chewing up our beloving ship marry." This time Zoro and Sanji said in sync as there were a few like around 10 armed guards aiming at them and the fight broke yet it didn't last long as the pirate ship left upon registering their captain or king was defeated instantly.
"Tatsumaki!"
"Gum Gum gatling!"
"Côtelette."
"That was easy and quick." Ussop spoke as if he took and did all the fighting, wiping his sweat. Draco chucked at the shooter of their crew. "You are good at it, Ussop, keep it up."
"Not too bad, cook." Zoro complemented for the first time at the new move the cook demonstrated.
"You too, moss head." In response Sanji passed the vibe check.
"Back to infirmary." Draco muttered as Nami needed them more.
# Chapter 3
Third Person
"Who was it? What happened?" Vivi asked in distress. Robin, as calm as ever, closed the book she was reading while Nami shivered under the thick blanket.
"Nothing serious. We were attacked by some unknown pirates. They did some damage to the ship, but Usopp will repair it—perhaps Sanji or Zoro might give him a hand." Draco responded, walking past them to check on Nami's condition. He held her hand gently, rubbing it as his eyes locked on her.
"Nah, he can do it himself." Both Sanji and Zoro said at the same time, uninterested in trivial matters. "So what's the nearby island? We need a doctor for her."
Robin inquired—it was their only option left: to wait and get help. The others present were upset and frustrated, feeling helpless without a way to aid Nami.
"But you're a witcher, right? You drink and create things like medicine and drugs?" Vivi said, recalling how she and others had watched him brewing liquids with various effects that worked on him.
"That's not how it works," he clarified, correcting her misunderstanding. "I may appear human and practice alchemy, but that doesn't make me a human doctor. And my potions, decoctions, and oils—if consumed by normal humans who haven't undergone the suffering, trials, and gruesome mutations—will cause a terrible, painful death."
"So there's nothing we can do for now?" Vivi said in a defeated tone, now understanding the impossibility of their situation.
"But her fever is getting higher," Draco stated as he measured it for the third time in just a few minutes. "I found the next island is Drum Island," Robin said as she opened Nami's map. Everyone came closer to have a look.
"Are we close to it?" Luffy asked, optimism in his voice as confidence ignited in his eyes. The health and life of a crew member were his and everyone's true priorities.
"We have to wait. Anyway, Sanji, can you cook some soup or something for the patient?" Draco commanded. There was still hope left, and the others understood their assignment, leaving one by one to do their best.
"I'll be back soon, Nami-swan!" Sanji sang before vanishing. "And Zoro, take Luffy. We need to reach the nearest island as soon as possible."
"Now that leaves me and Vivi to take care of her with Robin."
*Several hours later*
"Is it snowing...?" Zoro muttered, opening his eyes after meditation and feeling the difference in temperature.
"I can see the island. Twenty minutes away," Draco stated, utilizing his enhanced perception to see through the weather.
"Yeah!" Usopp, Sanji, Luffy and Carue yelled in relief, dancing and jumping until Zoro commented on something which triggered Sanji and the duck to bicker again.
"But wait, I can see a lot of armed people waiting there," Draco said, noticing the mini militia ready for war, standing with angry and cold expressions on the dock.
"Are they ready to welcome us so soon?" Zoro asked, holding his swords ready to unleash hell upon any foe without hesitation. Even Luffy was calm and ready for a fight.
"I'm gonna beat their ass if they don't agree to help Nami," Sanji said while passing everyone a warm drink to prepare. The passion to protect women in his eyes was spectacular yet hilarious.
"No, you can't beat them yet—we first need to find a doctor!" Vivi said, breaking through everyone's aggressive thoughts.
"How about you all stay on the ship and let me handle it? It's not wise to talk trash with people who might provide a doctor and help, then lose our tempers," Draco reasoned with them logically. The Straw Hats were known for being knuckleheads who beat the crap out of anyone who pissed them off or got in their way.
"Hmm, that could work," Luffy said, and the others gave it a chance. They had experienced firsthand Draco's communication skills, which could make anyone disagree to agree.
"Why not beat the shit out of them?" Luffy proposed again, reverting to his original action-first-talk-later personality.
"Because we need help, not the other way around," Vivi said, punching his head hard. He fell to his knees, rubbing where she'd hit him, waking up his passive talk-first-fight-later personality again.
"Indeed, let Draco handle the negotiations. He's a good negotiator and talker," Robin agreed, calmly watching them as she took a sip from her warm, strong coffee.
As the ship docked at Drum Island's pier, the cold air bit at Draco's exposed skin. The armed villagers stood their ground, rifles pointed at the approaching vessel. Draco stepped onto the wooden dock alone, his hands raised in a gesture of peace.
"I'm here to talk, not fight," he announced, his voice cutting through the tense silence.
A tall man with distinctive tribal tattoos stepped forward from the group of armed villagers. "State your business, pirate. Drum Island has no welcome for your kind."
"Draco," he replied simply. "And we're not here to cause trouble. We have a sick crew member who needs a doctor urgently."
The tall man's eyes narrowed, returning the courtesy as he moved forward. "I'm Dalton, leader of what's left of this island's defense. And I'm telling you to turn your ship around and leave. We've had enough of pirates and their kind."
"We're not like other pirates," Draco said calmly, ignoring the hostile murmurs from the militia. "We won't harm your people or take anything that isn't freely given. In fact, we're willing to pay for any assistance you can provide."
Dalton laughed harshly. "Pay? What could pirates possibly offer us that would be worth the risk?"
"An exchange of favors, perhaps," Draco countered. "Help us find a doctor for our navigator, and in return, I'll personally deal with anyone causing trouble on your island. Or defend you against any threats you might be facing."
The militia members exchanged uncertain glances. Dalton's expression remained skeptical, but a flicker of interest showed in his eyes.
"You expect us to believe that? A pirate offering to protect us? Why would you do such a thing?"
"Because my crewmate's life is at stake," Draco said, his voice steady. "And because not everyone who sails the seas is without honor. I give you my word that we mean you no harm."
Dalton studied Draco's face for a long moment, then lowered his rifle slightly. "There is a doctor on this island, but getting to her won't be easy. The island's former ruler left behind dangerous forces."
"Then we'll face whatever comes," Draco replied without hesitation. "Just point us in the right direction."
The militia leader considered this for a moment longer before finally nodding. "Very well. I'll take you to her myself. But if any of your crew causes trouble..."
"They won't," Draco assured him. "And if they do, you have my permission to deal with them as you see fit."
With an uneasy truce established, Dalton signaled his men to lower their weapons. "Follow me. And pray your crewmate survives the journey."
As Dalton led Draco through the snow-covered path, the rest of the Straw Hat crew disembarked, following at a cautious distance. Vivi wrapped her cloak tighter around herself, her brow furrowed in thought.
"This island... it seems familiar somehow," she murmured, suddenly stopping in her tracks. "Drum Island... I remember now. This was ruled by that tyrannical king, wasn't it? Wapol, the one who ate people and terrorized his subjects."
Dalton turned, surprise evident on his face. "You know of Wapol? Then you know why we're wary of outsiders, especially pirates."
"He was a World Government-affiliated king who abused his power until Blackbeard drove him out," Vivi continued, pieces clicking into place. "That must have been when you took control of the island's defense."
Dalton's expression softened slightly. "Yes. Wapol fled like a coward when Blackbeard attacked, leaving us to rebuild. But now... we've received word that he might be returning to reclaim his throne."
The crew members exchanged concerned looks. Nami's feverish form was being carefully carried by Usopp and Sanji, her condition worsening with each passing moment.
"We need to move faster," Draco urged, his enhanced senses detecting Nami's weakening vital signs.
"There's something else," Dalton said, stopping and turning to face them fully. "If what you say is true—that you're different from other pirates—then I have a proposition. Help us fight for our land's freedom if Wapol returns, and I'll ensure you get the best medical care this island can offer."
Before anyone else could respond, Luffy stepped forward, his eyes burning with determination. "We'll help you! Anyone who abuses their power and hurts innocent people is an enemy of mine! Right, crew?"
"Yeah!" Usopp and Sanji shouted in agreement.
Zoro merely nodded, a rare smile touching his lips. "Sounds like a good fight."
Robin studied Dalton with interest. "A former king returning to reclaim power... that could have interesting political implications."
"Thank you," Dalton said, genuine gratitude replacing his earlier hostility. "The doctor lives in a castle on the highest peak. It's a difficult journey, especially with your sick crewmate."
"We'll manage," Luffy said confidently. "Lead the way!"
