Chapter 7 - The Crossing of Paths

Sahil stood alone, the cold wind brushing past him as his thoughts grew heavier.

For the first time since everything had changed… he wasn't thinking about power, revenge, or the world.

He was thinking about one person the one who saved him.

Sahil closed his eyes for a moment and remembered that night—the bridge, the darkness, the moment he had given up… and the hand that pulled him back.

Diharesh, A stranger… who chose to save him.

"I should meet him," Sahil thought quietly.

"At least… I owe him that."

The next morning, Sahil made his way toward the city.

The same city that once broke him.

But this time… he wasn't the same person anymore.

There was something different in his presence now—something colder, something stronger.

Meanwhile, Diharesh was living his normal life.

After everything he had gone through, things had finally settled. A stable job, a peaceful home, and a family that cared for him.

For the first time in years… life felt calm.

But destiny had other plans.

As Diharesh stepped out of his house that evening, heading toward his routine, he suddenly felt something strange.

A sudden chill in the air.

Unnatural.

He stopped.

Something didn't feel right.

Not too far away, Sahil stood watching him.

Silent, bserving.

The man who had once saved him… now stood unaware of what he had become.

Sahil took a step forward.

Two lives, two different journeys.

One built on struggle and survival the other… reborn in power and darkness and now they were about to meet again.

The Invisible Judgment

Sahil was sitting alone when the news flashed across every screen. A girl had been assaulted. The accused was the son of a powerful politician. Despite public outrage and protests, the system was already trying to protect him. Evidence was being delayed, statements were being twisted, and justice was slowly being buried.

Sahil watched everything in silence. His eyes didn't show anger—they showed calculation. "Power protects power," he murmured. "Then I'll become something… power cannot touch."

The accused was placed in police custody under heavy security. Cameras everywhere, guards at every corner, restricted access. Untouchable—that's what everyone believed.

Sahil didn't act immediately. He observed. For days, he studied the building layout, CCTV angles, blind spots, guard routines, and even minor power fluctuations in the area. Nothing was rushed. Everything was planned.

One night, during a routine power dip, something unusual happened. Inside the control room, all camera feeds froze for exactly seven seconds. No alarms. No backup reaction. Just silence.

In that brief moment, the temperature inside one isolated cell dropped suddenly. Cold. Unnaturally cold. The guards outside only felt a slight chill, nothing more.

Then everything returned to normal. The cameras resumed. The accused was still inside. No signs of intrusion. Nothing seemed wrong.

Until morning.

The news spread like wildfire. The accused had been found dead inside police custody. No injuries. No marks. No forced entry. No fingerprints. No footage. Doctors had no explanation. The system had no answers.

The public was divided—some called it justice, others called it fear. But no one knew the truth.

Far away, Sahil watched the news calmly. No emotion. No regret. Just silence. "There are laws for people," he said quietly, "but for monsters… there will be something else."

And just like that, he walked away—as if he was never there.

One evening, as Diharesh was returning home from his job, he saw someone waiting for him on the bridge.

It was Sahil.

Sahil looked at him and said, "Hello."

Diharesh recognized him instantly. A sense of relief crossed his face.

"I was really worried about you," Diharesh said. "Where did you suddenly disappear from the hospital?"

Sahil smiled lightly. "I was very scared at that time," he replied. "So I escaped through the window. Later, I completed my treatment at another hospital."

It sounded simple And Diharesh accepted it.

After a brief conversation, Sahil looked at him and said, "If you have some time… come with me."

Diharesh hesitated for a moment, then agreed.

As they walked together, Diharesh began to notice something different about Sahil.

He wasn't just living his life He was helping people.

Poor people… the ones no one cared about. The ones whose lives or deaths made no difference to society. Sahil was there for them—helping, supporting, doing whatever he could.

Day by day, they started meeting regularly.

Their bond grew stronger.

They became good friends but at the same time, something strange was happening in the city.

Criminals… were disappearing.One by one.

Without any trace.

And slowly…the attention of government intelligence began to shift toward this growing mystery.

Something was happening.

Something unseen.

One day, at the place where Sahil used to help the poor, a horrifying incident took place.

A car came speeding at full force… and ran over four people.

They died on the spot.

When the driver stepped out of the car, he was laughing.

Laughing.

He casually told his friend, "There's nothing to worry about. These people don't matter. No one cares if they die. I have powerful connections—nothing will happen to me."

Later, one of the locals informed Sahil about the incident.

The moment Sahil heard it, he rushed to the scene.

But it was already too late.

The bodies had been taken away by the police.

People stood around in silence—some angry, some helpless.

The police assured everyone that action would be taken.

But nothing happened.

The boy's powerful connections protected him.

No arrest.

No case.

Not even a proper report.

The news never reached the media.

It was buried… like it never happened.

Sahil understood something clearly that day.

People had crossed every limit of cruelty.

That night, Diharesh waited for Sahil on the bridge.but Sahil didn't come.

Sahil had already made a decision if the system wouldn't deliver justice…he would.

He tracked the boy down.

Late at night, he saw the same car approaching.

Sahil stepped onto the road… standing directly in front of it.

Inside the car, the boy laughed again.

"Let's hit him," he said. "There are no cameras here. No one will know."

For him, it was just another moment of entertainment.

But something changed.

Suddenly, the entire road turned into a layer of ice.The car lost control.

The driver panicked.

Too late with a single motion, Sahil used his power.

The car was forced off balance and slammed violently into a wall. The impact was devastating,no one survived the next morning, the news spread everywhere This time, it couldn't be hidden.

An "accident"… but something didn't feel right.

Government intelligence took notice.

This was no coincidence.

First the mysterious death in custody…

Now this impossible accident.

There was a pattern A meeting was called.

High-level officials gathered And for the first time… they decided to bring in someone special.

Someone no one had ever seen without a mask

Someone known only by a name, "Phantom Cipher"

The room fell silent.

A name everyone had heard…

but no one had ever truly known.

No face.

No identity.

Only results.

Some said he could solve a case just by looking at patterns.

Some believed he was more dangerous than the criminals he chased.

But one thing was certain—

If Phantom Cipher was involved…

the truth would not stay hidden for long. 🔥
