Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: Spandine: “Lady Robin Will Surely Be Incomparably Noble in the Future!”

To be honest, this shocking news left Valthior dizzy for a moment, unable to react.

Was Olvia the type to get pregnant easily? One try and it worked?

According to Spandine's description—good grief—Robin, who should have had black hair, clearly inherited both his and Olvia's genes. This time, she was a silver-haired baby. Although there were no photos, from the description she was extremely cute, and in terms of dominant traits, she heavily resembled Olvia. Even though she had just been born, she already looked very similar to her mother.

In other words, aside from the change in hair color, Robin's appearance was almost identical—she was destined to be a great beauty.

Listening to this description, Valthior felt complicated emotions stirring within him. But soon, another question came to mind: would my Sharingan be inherited?

It probably would, right? Even if it was technically a "cheat ability," it had already completely fused with him—just like something he was born with.

But there was no way to determine that at this stage. After all, before awakening, the Sharingan was no different from ordinary eyes.

It wasn't like he could test it by… killing Olvia, right?

…Wait, that didn't make sense anyway. Setting aside whether Robin was even old enough to have such emotional triggers, his Sharingan was rooted in Haki, not in emotional trauma like "awakening through tragedy."

This would only be verifiable once Robin grew up and mastered Haki.

"Young Master?" Spandine, noticing the long silence, called out softly again.

That snapped Valthior out of his thoughts. He swallowed, feeling conflicted—part of him wanted to order Spandine to bring the child to him to raise personally. Another part felt it was inappropriate to separate such a young child from her mother. He also considered sending Robin to Mary Geoise to enjoy a life of luxury, but worried that might twist her personality into that of a typical Celestial Dragon.

Worse, doing so would expose a weakness—placing his child under the control of Mary Geoise could become leverage against him in the future.

"This isn't even a question! Bring the kid here! We've got plenty of experience raising kids—Shanks turned out great under our care, didn't he?" Roger urged from the side.

"Exactly, Valthior! You can't send the child to Mary Geoise! Not everyone can grow up there and still come out even half-human like you!" Gaban added quickly.

Clearly, Roger and the others were excited at the idea of raising Valthior's child themselves.

But after a moment of silence, Valthior finally spoke:

"No need. Let the child stay with her mother for now. Keep this information sealed—no one else is to know about it."

To be honest, compared to the Roger Pirates, the group of scholars—who were under strict surveillance by the World Government—were actually safer in this situation.

Especially now. Spandine would undoubtedly prioritize the safety of the scholars above all else. After all, if anything were to happen to them—and by extension, to that noble bloodline of the Jaygarcia family—Spandine wouldn't have enough heads to pay for it.

On the contrary, the Roger Pirates were about to head to Elbaf to stir up trouble. There was a good chance they'd run into a terrifying figure like Harald again, and that bastard Shiki was also hunting them. The seas seemed full of enemies—bringing Robin along would be highly inconvenient.

"And you won't inform Mary Geoise either?" Spandine hesitated before asking.

Valthior raised an eyebrow. "No. This matter ends here. Just keep a close eye on them. Everything else—let it take its natural course."

After a brief silence, Spandine replied in a steady voice, "Yes, Young Master."

In truth, this was also a test from Valthior. If Spandine truly followed orders and concealed everything—even from Mary Geoise—it would prove that, at this stage, Valthior's commands ranked above all else in his priorities.

That would make him far more trustworthy in the future.

If Mary Geoise learned of this later, however, it would mean Spandine was still loyal to the elders. In that case, Valthior would have to reconsider how to use him.

With these thoughts in mind, Valthior hung up the Den Den Mushi.

The next second, Roger suddenly lunged from behind and wrapped his thick arms around Valthior's neck. "You bastard! Why didn't you bring the kid onto the ship? All of us uncles could take care of her just fine!"

"Why the hell are you hugging me from behind while you're naked!? Do you want to die!?" Valthior exploded in anger, shaking him off and glaring warily.

Dammit, has this boring voyage turned you gay?

Thank God I have the habit of wrapping a large bath towel around my waist!

...

Meanwhile, on Enies Lobby—

Spandine stared silently at the Den Den Mushi on his desk. After a moment of thought, he pressed a button.

Soon, an agent in a black suit entered. "Orders, sir?"

"First: immediately destroy all documents and records related to the scholars from the past two months. From today onward, all intelligence regarding them must be reviewed personally by me. Without my approval, no one is to report anything to Headquarters or Mary Geoise. Anyone who violates this—regardless of rank—will be executed."

The agent paused for a second, then responded, "Yes, sir!"

"Second: raise the surveillance level on the scholars to the highest priority. I want to know everything—even what they eat for dinner. Reassign two elite units—pull them off all current duties and have them follow the scholars starting today. No intelligence gathering—only covert protection. Also deploy the best medical team to accompany them. Make this a strict order: Olvia and her daughter are top priority. Even if everyone else dies, they must remain unharmed—or we're all dead!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Third," Spandine's eyes hardened, "eliminate the previous informant. Destroy all communication records with him. Insert a new informant into the scholars' group—this time, someone truly loyal to us."

"Yes, sir!"

After the agent left, Spandine stood by the window.

Enies Lobby was known as the "Island that Never Sleeps." Due to its unique geography and climate, the sun had never set there since its discovery—a truly bizarre phenomenon.

The bright midday sunlight shone down on him, yet he felt a chill down his spine.

"Saint Saturn…" he murmured softly, hesitation flickering in his eyes.

But soon, his gaze steadied. Looking up at the blinding sun, he muttered to himself:

"You're too far away. But the Young Master is within reach. I'm still serving the Jaygarcia family—this isn't betrayal, is it?"

At that moment, Spandine made his decision—he would fully align himself with Valthior.

Just as he said: the Five Elders were distant, unreachable figures. But the Young Master was someone he could directly communicate with. Choosing whose side to take wasn't difficult.

Compared to his foolish son, Spandine might lack strength and moral character—but in terms of political instinct and cunning, he was exceptionally sharp.

Before long, he couldn't help but think how lucky those scholars were.

Originally, they were all meant to be eliminated.

But now, a major variable had appeared.

Perhaps this variable would one day rewrite their predetermined fate.

A noble Celestial Dragon bloodline—a direct descendant of a Five Elders family—was enough to change many outcomes.

"Lady Jaygarcia Nico Robin… my entire future is riding on you. Grow up safely—if you do, your future will be beyond measure," Spandine whispered.

It was almost funny. The man who was originally supposed to wield the executioner's blade against Olvia and Robin had now become the one who would risk his life to protect them.
